Maybe not with Meredith sick and the pandemic, but they could go get coffee as friends, maybe hang out at each other’s houses, as friends. I 100% agree with you that they arent that close yet, but it wouldn’t hurt for Meredith do get another person, and his connection with Cristina is definitely something they have in common.

How there are any Merluca shippers out there, especially at this point, is beyond me! To me, Hayes and Mer have ACTUAL chemistry. She lights up around him in a way that we've only seen with Derek and her brief encounter with the transplant doc. The way that they connect on an emotional level and all the over the shoulder glances and smiling eyes...I mean they are great together and I feel like she will get Derek's blessing at the beach and hopefully after, they go full speed ahead with Mer and Hayes!! ❤

I'm just waiting for Mer to wake up, recover and give Hayes a chance. He not only understands her in ways Deluca never can. He understands the pain of losing a spouse, so he knows he can never replace derek. He has kids of his own, so he's probably not interested in any more kids of his own. He's also her equal in every way, dosn't worship the ground she walks on, and she can talk to him about stuff she can't talk to Deluca about. She has had doubts about Deluca and their relationship. He's Cristina approved, and they have chemistry. They should have just kept her and Deluca a fling or fwb. amelia and Link can then find their own place, and Maggie can find a nice appartment. Deluca is nice, but not for Mer. And not for Jo either. Deluca is young, attractive, a surgeon, and not held back by past trauma. He can esaily find somebody else. He should just look outside the hospital for dating, or date Vic from station 19, or move to Switzerland, or stay single.
