As a sedentary 44 year old former athlete, trying to get back on my feet using strength training, this was very humbling and emotional to watch. Much respect for John!

Me too. Don’t stay sedentary too long. Your joints will thank you. I’m 52 and just got back into a few months ago after unite a long time being basically sedentary. My ankles, knees, hips elbows and shoulders are where my limitations lie. I don’t let it stop me. I notched the other day I’m getting stronger. Elbow braces are helpful. Buying knee braces next.

These guys are now my athletic heroes. We have a local power lifter by the name of Joe Stockinger at 90 years of age he Sumo deadlifted 405 for 3 reps and squats 275. He still rides his bike everywhere and is about the nicest human being you could meet. My excuses to skip training days seem trivial when I see these old boys hitting it!!!

Wow! I am in tears watching this. I feel so many people have been spoon fed limiting beliefs about aging. The best is yet to be! Here is a man in his 90s being more optimistic than ever! I started weightlifting at 40 and I am excited to face aging with the mindset of an athlete. I am ready to race as long and hard as I can against Father Time!

This is amazing. I have been lifting since I was 18 and I’m now 50. I intend to continue for life, it’s a lifestyle. I’m not going to be sat in an armchair watching daytime TV, I’m going to be down the gym with these guys 💥

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, this is by far the best short film I have ever seen about strength training. While watching this, John reminds me of the hundreds, if not, thousands of patients I saw in the geriatric facilities. If some of them had done what John did, what a better life they could have had instead of a slow painful suffering due to inactivity and weakness. Way to go, John! Great job to all and to Dr. Sully!

This story is one of the best I have seen thus far with Starting Strength. Way to go Dr. Sullivan for making such a difference in these folks' lives. Congrats to John, a 92 year old young athlete!

I'm 62 and have been lifting for about 7 years. Just set a PR in bench this week. Very inspiring to see a guy 30 years my senior lifting more than I could when I was 10 years younger. Go John!

I am a fan of John Claassen and I use his content to motivate my 88-year-old father. Since John started at age 89, he is the perfect role model! Please tell me if this is the most recent update on John because the video showed a 2019 date in the credits. Last year I set AAU Women's World Masters records deadlifting the exact same numbers as John! Remarkable, because I compete in 65-69 year-olds at 148 pounds of body weight. Share more of John, because his testimony reaches a much-needed demographic. Thanks for Greysteel!

This is the reason behind my choice to enter a physique competition to celebrate my 70th birthday in two years...2024. Because of Greysteel, I know I can become strong, because of John, I know I am bodybuilder and I will be excellent on that day. Along the way, I am going to to breaking barriers, challenging my body, and making myself better than I have ever been in my life! Thank you, John, thank you, Dr. Sullivan ... Sully...for giving me the power to dream again.

This is the type of social engagement and physical fight that sustains him, I wholeheartedly believe. It makes me happy to see him not just alive but "living". Im sure we'll all do our level-best to follow his lead. 235 is not too shabby. Lots of people cannot manage that weight.

I realized a long time ago that training is for life. Do i think it will extend my years? Not really. It will make the years I have better, and that's what i seek. Being strong just makes life better. It allows one to do things that otherwise would be impossible. It allows one to fend for ones self. I am able to help others rather than always asking for help. I think that's a pretty big deal. John is an inspiration.
