GRID Autosport - 2nd Race - Mercedes AMG GT3 @ Autodromo Do Algarve

www.ISRTV.com presents our second race in the Endurance category in GRID Autosport by Codemasters on the PC. This is a demo / beta of the game.
This is an 8 Minute Endurance race at Autodromo Do Algarve in a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3 car.
First up is a 10 minute practice session, 3 lap qualifier and then the 8 minute race with the AI difficulty set to "Very Hard".
This is not the final version of the game and some things may still change or are work in progress. It does give you a good idea of where they are going with this version of GRID.

Thought we'd drop in and just mention that we've made some improvements to the AI since the preview build was 'cooked'. The AI is now super-competitive on very hard, and harder across the board in general.

Algarve is a real-life track, from what I know there has been an F1 testing there. It is also used for Le Mans Series and motorcycle racing.

Please! Of course this is a real track. It's famed for being one of the most exciting tracks in the world. Some call it "the rollercoster". It's in the south of Portugal, Europe, it's about 20km from where I live. It's been part of several world championships such as World superbike series, Ferrari challenge, etc. And much appreciated for car, bike and tire testing. Also car presentations such as Mclaren MP12C, several Porsche models, etc. It's awesome!

Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is a racetrack outside the city of Portimao. They built this track in 2008. I have been fortunate enough to see A1GP as I don't live far. (From Gibraltar)

I am.. even more now that someone pointed me to the "advanced settings" in the controller section I overlooked. I adjusted saturation, deadzone and linearity and it feels really good now ! Darin

It's a real track in the South of Portugal. There is another one in Lisbon which is the one from Estoril, Autodril, which you might know of

Hey Darin, just a heads up regarding your comment that the tyres would be toast in a 40 min race. The tyre wear scales with selected race length.

The tail lights on the other cars dont look lit up, was annoying in Grid on Le Mans when you couldnt see them once they got out of range of your headlights

Have the but havent played it yet. Waiting on my replacement g27. After getting a wheel i refuse to race with a gamepad. Hurry up logitech. Only worked for two months. Now i have to wait two weeks for a replacement doesnt seem fair considering i paid next day for my original purchase.

As far as I can tell, it looks like will be like nfs shift2, an arcade semi-sim racing game. Hopefully will keep me busy until ProjectCARS, I have high hopes in P-cars I dont want to get dissapointed.

I haven't used a wheel since I was about 10 on Gran Turismo 2 and I rarely used it because I sucked. I have played all of the Forza Motorsport games up to Forza 4 and loved them all. Haven't played a racing game since Forza 4 and I was wanting to get in PC sim racing as I haven't owned a console in years. So I was wondering if I should get GRID Autosport or Assetto Corsa? From what I can tell Assetto is more of a simulator than GRID and is $10 cheaper, but GRID is a finished game as of this post and probably closer to what I'm used to with Forza. Also Assetto's price might go up once its released. I can always buy a more simulator styled game later also but I was just wanting some other opinions. Thanks in advance.

I won't jump to that conclusion yet. We're given a choice on race length, with the maximum endurance time being 40 minutes. Darin mentioned that the race length was extendable up to 5 times. In the first video, he did a 16 minute race by selecting 2x length.
