Overcoming the death of a loved one and seeing the good side of things. Chiniah discusses the journey she went through with her sister who died of cancer a few years ago and elaborates on how grief is a powerful tool that can show you important lessons in life while making you go through some of the toughest situations. As an undergraduate studying mechanical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, Sudalakshmee Chiniah launched her own summer program, Mauritian Youth Network at the age of 18. “My dream is to personally contribute and make the world a better place and my journey starts with education through my summer program.” Through Mauritian Youth Network, Sudalakshmee teaches leadership through seminars, workshops, and training sessions.
She also spent two years at African Leadership Academy in South Africa. She helped organize the international African Leadership Academy Model African Union 2016 (ALAMAU) as the Director of Finance. She believes that her experience with ALAMAU has allowed her to have fruitful conversations about the African continent and she hopes that one day she will represent the 21st century African image. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Dear Suda, your courage is baffling and stems from that of your sister's. You will thrive , how can you not, you are clearly unstoppable and one day you will sit with your sister and a KFC burger and she will tell you how proud of you she is.

I'm sorry you lost your son. I lost my 8 year old son on 1 August 2022. I feel your emotional and physical pain. I am in that what if stage. Guilt and anxiety filled my days and nights. I feel like I am in the grips of grief and will never be happy again.
