After the loss of her husband, Amy Looney describes the struggles that come with grief. Through this insurmountable loss, she began the necessary journey to healing and evaluating her priorities in life. She explains the importance of not just coping but learning how to thrive. Amy is dedicated to carrying on the legacy of her late husband and friend, who are buried side by side in Arlington National Cemetery. Through her work with the Travis Manion foundation, she continues the mission to honor the fallen by challenging the living. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I hope by now you have built a new life for yourself since you clearly have a plan. As a veteran, i knew officers from a military academy and know they are fine people. Hundreds of West Pointers and men from Annapolis died in Vietnam - usually leaving behind a wife and sometimes children.

Carry on his legacy so people who did not know him would know him... I Will DO this too. ThankYou so much, Hon. 💙💛💜💞☀️💖🥰🤗 Meaning through service, Positive Relationships and Engagement. The number1 thing I need is positive relationships because really I no longer have any.. all my close people have passed. I want to only surround myself with the people who Bring Out The Best In Me, who want to support me through thick and thin. I definitely want a higher ratio of positive interactions in my life.

remember woman when your man decides to volunteer for military duty of any kind and any branch of usa service always know your spouse may be leaving you alone , so get this in your mind before you marry any one of these military hero's ok cause you are not in any way shape or form guaranted that your spouse is going to come back home to you ok , the only way to stop this kind of heart pain is not marrying an active duty service man, but you pick your life and go into it with both eyes open , it is very natural to know that when you marry a spouse in the military service your marriage maybe a very short one ok , ok god bless you and push on. always remember there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for a friend. now remember these hero's will all be forgotten in the future years to come , even thou you don't like it well its just life it moves forward with you or with out you .

What about all those people who were killed by USA army in Iraq and Afghanistan?Serving your country in middle east? Come on! wouldn't the people of Iraq or Afghanistan get widows, orphans, etc don't they feel lost? Does she think she was really young at 29 for being a widow? People get married in Middle east in much younger ages so they would be so young when they faced their beloved husbands/fathers or brothers killed by those guys that the video is trying to sell us as role models. Go and work in a coffeeshop but don't bring the money contaminated to people's blood to your spouse and children.Shame on anyone who serves the wars.

Hi i guess all around the world unfortunately you have people dying young and leaving their youngs companion alone ,but meaning of wedding and kids are different from some culture to other..as in afgan or muslim countries they will say its allah wish and accept the deaths and thats it and will marry again and ladies there are also force to marry at early ages so you cannot compare this lady to others as she is here to say how to get along afterwards and do you think there is possiblity for women for the countries you said to be able to come here to express themselves..I do not think so ..so this lady is really courageous and just trying to come here to help others to keep on going..
