the way I missed my chance to draw vriska in the corner getting away with Griffin's wallet at 4:44,,, you know she'd steal it just bc it had eight dollars in it,,, hindsight is a 8itch

If I could do that for a living I wouldn't care about looking like a "peasant or a pleeb" that's 360 dollars an hour.

I could take 3 minutes to pick that dollar up and still make more than my hourly wage.

This comment proves just how little people realize they're being screwed. Did you know that you likely don't even make a penny a second? A penny a second works out to $36/hr. If you make $18/hr, that's a penny every other second. So you, me and most of the people we know make less money than if they could spend 8 hours a day picking up pennies.

I won't pick up anything less than a quarter. Then again my Mom used to save pennies and over the course of several years she ended up having several thousand dollars.

@@williamhood7548 Back the late 80's and up until the early 2000's I had a friend and their family survived off of collecting bottles and cans. It was crazy because most of their house was filled with bags of washed empty cans and bottles. From what I understand they didn't have to work all that hard either. The entire family collected the stuff and then they'd just send their kids down to the IGA to cash them out, they'd print off a check you could cash in and the kids would just give that to the parents. The thing is, back then, all of the places that accepted cans didn't have a hard limit, so if you had $400 worth of cans, my local IGA would pay you out the whole total. The same store now only allows $50 a day and only accepts cans from our state. We have a local metal place that accepts all cleaned out cans but the exchange rate is terrible.

"The rich have been taking to throwing money on the ground and waiting for poor people to pick it up." Ironically I recently watched a Tom Scott video about a town in England where the wealthy would HEAT UP COINS TO SCALDING TEMPERATURE and THROW THEM AT THE POOR and would apparently derive mirth from watching the poors burn themselves scrambling for coins they desperately needed. The crazy thing is the town still looks fondly back on the tradition and carries it on (though nowadays the coins are merely "warm" not "cause permanent injury hot")

I remember when I was a kid, my dad found someone's wallet. It had already had all the money and credit cards and stuff already taken out of it, but it still had all their ID's inside. He ended up managing to get in contact with them somehow and returned it to the original owner. They were so grateful that they actually gave my dad something like twenty bucks for the whole thing.

I would too. Think about replacing your ID, cards, etc. The time and money that takes is awful. Well worth the 20$ you offer as a reward to not have to do all that.

Griffin infuriates me in this, because never once does it occur to him that he might have just dropped the wallet where it wasnt immediately found. Like if it fell in some vegetation, or out of your pocket on a ride? That might not be found for a while dude!

As I was walking to my car after a lecture, i found a $20 bill on the ground. No one was immediately around and there wasnt anyone looking for the bill. So I set it aside on a nearby bench. One of my classmates saw me and loudly asked what I was doing. She was surprised that I didn't instantly nab it. I gave it to her, but I also don't know why I didn't take it. That's like 18 beefy melt burritos from taco bell.

Someone, and im still amazed by it, left $900 in an envelope at the register at my work. And I did the good thing and turned it into my super. Someone came back for it, frankly not soon enough in my opinion it took like a week for someone to call, and they gave me $100 for not stealing it. Why are so many people putting their money in envelopes?! Buy a wallet!

I'll be the first to admit that when I find a wallet on the ground, I check it for money first. If it's over a grand, I will usually report it to the local police because that is a lot of money to lose. That could be someone's rent or groceries or gifts, it really doesn't matter. When I was in high school I found a leather clutch with $2,500.00 in it, I brought it to the office and it turns out it was money for the school's Spanish class for their trip to Mexico. I'm glad I turned it in. If it's like $50 or under, I'll take it. I'll still drop the wallet off at the police department. I keep my entire life in my wallet and I know I'd be destroyed if I lost mine.
