Also because of that, the abrupt bursts of emotion really catch me of guard and make me smile. This game reminded me of it, as they're from relatively the same era of Square late on the PS1... I would love to someday see you do a video on Vagrant Story, one of my favorite games ever, and played by far too few people. Beyond that I think you would genuinely enjoy and appreciate it if you've never played it. It's an utterly unique game, and to me the best looking game on the system. And it's a rare game from that era where the maturity of the writing still absolutely holds up to this day. edit: The reason this reminds me of Vagrant Story is more than them both being late PS1 Square games; the sphere-grid-based-range combat system for a single player character in a more action oriented jrpg used in Parasite Eve was also used in Vagrant Story, albeit in a more refined state. VS also uses full 3D environments at all times, with free camera movement, so the technique naturally works way better and feels more natural there than in Parasite Eve. Also... 35:42 hahaha, bravo edit2: Well now I feel silly for commenting before watching the end : )

I would like to read something profound as the DFW's Federer piece but for Vagrant Story. Resonant Arc guys are doing a fantastic job close to that field. I think to write something concerning PSX era and beeing simultaneously profound requires a scribe job of Alazlam Durai level. I always wanted to get into this game but never got around to it. Thanks for saving me 30 hours. I would love to see a review for Parasite Eve 2, if you're taking requests.

Nice to see someone else talk about this game. This was one of my favorites since I bought it for myself with the money my parents got me for my birthday the year it was released. I remember getting stuck on Day 2 in the zoo and then having to go back and buy the strategy guide. Memories.

As a molecular biologist; I can say that that was by far not the worst way I heard someone explain the endosymbiont-hypothesis. The worst way for the record, was George Lucas in the first Prequel-Movie. Keep it up Also, fuck Dawkins! There is usually a reason someone becomes a "popular" scientist. Writing pop-science books is basically a Plan B type deal.

In 2015, Dawkins wrote: “Is trans woman a woman? Purely semantic. If you define by chromosomes, no. If by self-identification, yes. I call her “she” out of courtesy.” How is this "transphobic?"
