@Tarantulisimo2 жыл бұрын
It was actually a long process over years & decades....the movie sets were already over 20 years old & pretty dilapidated/run-down by the time the Mansons moved in; then the authorities tore up & wrecked a lot of sh*t during their numerous investigations; & in 1970 there was a huge fire that destroyed almost all of the remaining buildings...Then over the next 40 years, whatever remained was either bulldozed over or pushed into the ravine, removed, taken/stolen/vandalized, or reclaimed by nature....I know that as recent as the last 5-10 years, people have dug around & still found bits & pieces of wood, brick, cars, trucks, furniture....

Let’s never forget that these people who portrayed themselves as Love, were ready, willing and able to slaughter a woman who was ready to deliver a baby, an innocent 18 year old who begged for his life, another man who was stabbed over 50 times, another woman who screaming could be heard for a great distance and called out for her mother and another man who tried to stop the love of his life from being terrorized and knifed hung and begged for her life. Manson and his group indulged themselves every day, and then they used their Love to ruin generations of their victims families. Like Mrs. Tate said, “When am I going to get paroled?” God rest their weary souls.

What time and the elements has not destroyed, souvenir hunters has erased any sign that that they were there. Frankly, what amazes me is that the area has not been developed into houses, condos or a mini mall. Manson had many caves in Many Canyons. or so we heard. We rode in Devil Canyon all the time (1975-1977). It's all the way up Canoga, pass Chatsworth st. Anyway you go down into the canyon, and there is a bend in the trail next to the stream. Many trees, and pretty. We use to tie our horses there, and explore. Hidden above the stream in the brush/ side of the mountain is a big cave. We found Helter Skelter written on the wall. Tons of tin cans spread about, and old torn blankets. Don't know if this was one of their spots, but it freaked us out?? It is well hidden. If you go, again watch for Rattlers, we use to sing at the top of our lungs to move them on. Good video.

Chatsworth is a hidden gem of Los Angeles. From Spahn Ranch, to Stoney Pointe, to the Hells Angels clubhouse, to the Rocketdyne nuclear meltdown, to being the porn capital of the world. The Metrolink disaster, one of the best HS baseball programs in the country, Joey Buttafucco even lived here and had an auto body shop here. Good job! I don’t know why but I have always been fascinated by the whole Helter Skelter thing since I was a kid. Seeing Sharon on reruns of the Beverly hillbillies is kinda sad knowing what the future held for her.
