I used to visit my dad's grave and there was a woman whose daughter died young and was buried next to my dad. She would talk to me about how sad she was and stuff and it would be really hard to not break down myself. A parent shouldn't have to bury a child.

@@kummakummakummakummakummac8606 that breaks my heart. My Dad died this year and I often stop by other peoples graves near him and look up their stories. One woman near him was a paraplegic who died of cancer and left behind a husband and little daughter ☹️. Another is a 10 year old kid who had a horrible autoimmune disease.

Anton’s mother sits at his graveside nearly every day. I remember first meeting her and passing along my condolences to her in 2018. Little did I know that later that year, my neighbor would die in a freak accident very similar to Anton’s when his brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee somehow rolled on top of him shortly after he had parked the vehicle at the top of his driveway. Ironically, he had just hired ADT a couple months prior and the security cameras would end up recording the entire incident which no one else saw. He was taking a couple trash bags down to the street when out of nowhere, the vehicle just started rolling down the driveway and when it caught up to him where the driveway meets the street, it was too late. My other neighbor (Rolf) found him pinned underneath one of the vehicle’s wheels. I’ll never forget coming home from work that evening and seeing the aftermath of that day’s tragic accident. I thought about my poor neighbor, trapped under that vehicle in the freezing cold (I later found out he too was an only child) and his devastated parents. But oddly enough, it wasn’t until I saw my neighbor’s shiny new Jeep Grand Cherokee being put onto a flatbed tow truck that I suddenly remembered my conversation with Mrs. Yelchin earlier that Spring (her son had also owned a newer Jeep Grand Cherokee) I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I’m from Detroit and that the plant that makes those vehicles is on Detroit’s Eastside, close to where I live. Was it operator error that killed both Anton Yelchin and my neighbor? Possibly (especially since the vehicles were new or newer to them both) I don’t know how many others have died so tragically in a similar fashion, but over the past few years, I sometimes find myself thinking about Mrs. Yelchin and the pain I saw in her face and eyes years ago. My friends in LA visit Hollywood Forever often, and they always see her sitting in the shade next to her son’s grave (but they’re too shy to approach her) Often times, I wish I lived a lot closer to LA, because if I did, I would make a point of stopping by HF and checking on Mrs. Yelchin with the hope that time has helped heal some of her pain and that she is not alone.

Also amazing was that he was able to do so much while dealing with cystic fibrosis. He kept it hidden. I’ve made a donation to the cystic fibrosis foundation in his name. I have a friend with it and lost another to it.

He was a great actor. He also played Odd Thomas. It wasn't a real popular movie but I really enjoyed. I was so shocked when that accident happened. I big loss.

*I recently lost my husband (very unexpectedly), and am now SO wishing I thought of engraving his headstone with his "D.O.B. - Forever." I absolutely love that!! Think I need to look into how much it'll cost to change it. I'd pay any amount of money for anything pertaining to my husband and honoring his legacy the way he deserves...I'm just too broke right now. Really hoping this is something I can do in the future. Beautiful video btw.* ❤🕊🐢🌹

What a freak accident. I’m now in my 30’s, and it really hits you different when someone so young dies when you get older.

He was a great actor. He was great on star trek. But I think Odd Thomas was a role that seemed to be taylor made for him.. he was almost animated as Odd.

I was there last September. I did some reading on him, and he has a film called Burying the Ex in which they filmed in Hollywood Forever cemetery. There is a whole scene filmed right next to where he is buried by Johnny Ramones memorial. Unreal! Its a bit creepy but if you google burying the ex hollywood forever it will come up.

I just saw that clip about the movie scene kzbin.infoUgkxRay6lZow81Te-JURyDjE0TOdlLDsD5kB I was wondering if his family picked out his final resting place because of the film or if it was just a fluke??
