Well, it is not accurate enough to hit single units, but nothing stops you to lob 6X iron bombs to a cluster of light armoured trucks + tents + infantry and enjoy the carnage. Anything bigger than a landing pad can be hit consistently and out of AAA and MANPAD threat zones. Also, in case you have a good solid chunk of rock between you and the enemy, you can even hit SAM batteries if you feel brave enough. I've done that with the hornet in the WP3 at the Beartrap server.

The Marine Corps tactics manual specifies the use of the toss (loft) bombing button on the stores page. The aircraft will then give cues as to when to initiate a pull up and the pull up is executed as a 4g pull up the plumb line to about a 38 degree angle.or until all bombs have been dropped. This can also be accomplished with smart weapons too evidently.
@dannypeck962 жыл бұрын
so one could use this with 38's to do a low altitude attack on a sam site?
@p38sheep2 жыл бұрын
@@dannypeck96 any bomb, JDAM, LJDAM (utilizing laser or GPS) or LGB. Razbam has yet to implement the toss cue so you’ll have to guess distance which is why a JDAM could be effective but remember that the computer in the JDAM is going to calculate release point based upon your given flight parameters, so you won’t know when or if you can release until you’ve started your pull up and if your early or late you may never get a release cue. it will take some practice and watching some videos of ranges that others start there pull ups but the faster you go the further you toss. The laser weapon hold good promise as well assuming you can have a 3rd party laseing such as ground JTAC or an airborne unit or even a buddy orbiting outside but I would assume that if your tossing its because you can’t get close enough to bomb which is where a 3rd party ground base JTAC from say a seal team or other forward recon unit can be of great benefit allowing you to deliver precision ordinance on target with minimal exposure. Could be a good option for low cloud cover too that prevents a airborne laser. Dumb bombs are pretty accurate with the system as well obviously. The f16 is getting toss cues in the next open beta update as well so you can practice with other aircraft too and you can toss stuff that the Harrier doesn’t have like JSOWs which is cool. Happy hunting and try tossing a sidearm at an sa6 site. It’s a good time.

Figure you can do this in formation? It would be extremely sexy if pulled off right and potentially hilarious if it goes very wrong. Either would make for good footage I think.

Very cool. Is the reason for the last minute skew because you're releasing the bombs in a ripple and one side releases before the other, dragging you off course slightly?

Can't remember where i heard it, probably from an Aircraft Interview interview, but aligning with a bridge or runway etc is not the best way to get hits on it. Instead have a shallow angle, like 5 degrees off its axis, then the bomb line should cross the target axis and get hits even when you pull left or right (or because of wind and such). Granted, the targets talked about were much narrower than that.
@777doom2 жыл бұрын
That makes sense actually, mainly if you are tossing multiple bombs so theres more chance of at least once hitting when affected by drift etc
