@@rajeshbt8146 India had Sqdrn. No. 24 of Su30Mki by May 1997. But as they were brand new and really expensive before being manufactured in India, so they were not sent to the front line. My brother had to go back to Mig29 to fly in the Kargil war as a squadron leader. Can't disclose anymore. The info is available on the net.

@@grimreapers sir, they are ment to be used to shooting up at targets from the deck, not high altitude standoffs. Remember how Vertical Charlie's Squadron fought from the deck. Usually Russian aircrafts are ment to be GCI guided through valleys to pop up at the last moment from flanking angles and vanish into the valleys. My brother tell me stories of how IAF fighter pilots regularly train to fly under high tention wire down through the valleys of Himalayas

@@ashokiimc the first kashmir war (47-48) happened when Pakistani tribesmen pushed into kashmir due to the brutal regime of hari Singh who ordered and promoted a genocide against the muslim population. Indian troops pushed back when hari Singh acceded kashmir to India. The war happened and as you know, when the Pakistani military pushed in, they retook 2/5 of kashmir and so on. In the 1950s, the UN retconned hari Singh act of acceding kashmir to India, and called for a plebiscite to he held. Currently, no such plebiscite has been held.
