My son just got back to Texas from an 8- day deployment with Grindstone in Tennessee. Salt of the earth folks being God's hands. He loves working with them. They are a great 501(c)(3), so your donations are tax deductible too!

I cannot say enough good things about Grindstone Ministries. They, like the Cajun Navy are on the ground first. They literally have SAVED many lives during and after this storm. All money given is a tax write off, and I personally give monthly. PLEASE consider them if you can! Right now, I'm in Tampa Bay watching Milton come in... Ugh!

@straykitten4998 Here in Florida those that don't have cars can call Uber and get a free ride to a shelter. Our governor, Ron DeSantis has made a deal with Uber. We have special needs shelters open, many regular shelters open and some will let you take your pets. Personally, I'm in a hotel. I live in a very old double wide mobile home with lots of trees around it. Some trees came down in Helene several days ago. The soil is so saturated that the trees around my place is a danger.

Just like @bearindependent said. Get buses for you and your neighbors, election day is coming, and you all have to vote. Good the community has saved the community. The work is ahead and it will take years.
