Thank you Scott. I have a 2017 kia optima ex w/ 7k miles on it and it is loaded with swirls,scratches, and everything in between. To top it all off it is metallic metaflake black. I've never done anything like this before so I studied all your vids(watched them 2 or 3 times to let them sink in) bought all the goodies needed for a DIY paint correction. Nervous as hell. So I decided to try it out on my 16 yr old riding mower. Fabulous results. Looks brand new. Received many compliments. Still a little nervous but going to take it slow and easy at my speed. Thanks again for you vids and keep 'em coming.

Hey Scott! Love the videos and thankful for all that you do to teach us here in KZbin land. Much appreciated. I was hoping to ask you to do a video in regards to navigating emblems, chrome trim, door handles, Etc. while paint correcting. Also how to navigate bodylines and difficult angles. So far I haven't been able to find anything like this on KZbin if you could do this for us it would be greatly appreciated I'm sure. Thanks again and have a great Day!

Great vid. Thanks for the advice! I saw some reviews on Griots site saying the G polishers ate pads more quickly and the vibration was excessive, but sounds like that may have been more due to speed and clear coat hardness. Also noted that it pays to buy direct from Griots as they have great support on purchases. Though I am for sure following your advice on pads and compounds which is worth avoiding trial and error.

I'm not a professional detailer but am a car lover and love doing it all on my own. Recently bought a new car and the orange peel totally bothers me and was thinking of using a denim or velvet pad and the griots fast correcting cream for the orange peel. Would appreciate your opinion on this combo.

Scott quick question. I heave a fairly new car and use McGuire’s products saw some swirls. So I used the polish and then used the McGuire’s canuba wax. Why does it look greasy once I let the wax dry? Is there something I’m doing wrong?

Thank you for the Info. I am a retired Mechanic that Really didn't buff many cars. Now I find myself doing some.. . And I have a feeling you can help this "rookie" heavy oxidation on my fiberglass 5th wheel. . I get a healthy Hopping..and can't figure out if it's too much polish or not enough. . And how to stop the black from the painted Aluminum skirt?. Just a few major questions. . It is turning out wonderful. Just a ton more work than I remembered! ! Thanks again for your Videos and sharing your experience with us!

@rayjay8322

It has it's place for usage. You have to realize that it's a diminishing compound. I've only used it on certain areas of a problem child vehicle. I do wish it would work longer and you must use it in the shade.

Hello Scott, do have a question for ya. I bought a torq 22d after watching the video you did reviewing it, it was a great machine. It lasted me about 2 months before the shaft broke. IT had PLENTY of power, i was very impressed with the power. My question, how does the boss stack up to the torq? Will i be losing any power if i buy a boss? Thanks!

what shaft broke???...the body of the polisher or the shaft within the polisher from the armature???....wow thats crazy!! the boss polisher has a little more power than rupes but it still drives me nuts:)

The Marketing Guys.... they are the worst. Bought a TourqX, via Amazon. Used it 1 day, was my first time using ANY DA. I noticed it was really, really hot. So much that I couldn't hold it without gloves. Called the Marketing Guys and they basically told me to pound sand. $150 down the drain. Went to HF and got their DA, works great for my weekend warrior needs.

Have you or anybody reading this used Adams polishes system? I bought it without researching. All I've heard is that it doesn't cut much. Aside from that are the two systems similar? I'll most likely be switching to griots but wondering if anybody has used Adams compunds and polish and if so how you used it? Thanks

So, Scott, which pads do you recommend to use with this machine? Nice video and info.
@hallmarksdetailingllc8078
@hallmarksdetailingllc8078 6 жыл бұрын
Probably the Americana pads if i'm not mistaken? Personally i've been using the Lake Country HDO pads and i'm in love with them. They're very well built. I've done 6+ corrections with just 1 pad, and a pad washer and the pad is just now starting to mess up. And that's because I hit a few sharp moldings with it.

Yeah, I LOVE my Flex 3401! It's a real workhorse and corrects very quickly without the heat of a long throw buffer can make. It is a bit rougher on the thicker pads though.

Will it burn paint or is it safe for a beginner
@hallmarksdetailingllc8078
@hallmarksdetailingllc8078 6 жыл бұрын
Anything will burn paint if you use it incorrectly. But as long as you're not holding it on an edge and applying a shit ton of pressure you'll be fine. Edges and curves are really the only "dangerous" parts to paint correction with any machine. Because it's easier to create a high friction point in those areas and remove alot of paint. My advice to beginners is to buy a cheap hood from a salvage yard for under $50 and play around with it. Burn through the paint on it, fuck it up who cares right? Learn what it takes to screw something up, and learn what it takes to fix something. You'll then have the confidence to go out and tackle any job!

Vincent GOUIN CIERSON your perspective is very interesting and filled with contradictions but it's ok, i wasn't expecting an intelligent response and you absolutely have the freedom to a very small minded perspective and lack of respect and honor for my willingness to help others regardless of what you feel or freedoms you believe you have or don't have..best of luck as you walk your journey my friend:)

It's called auto DETAILing for a reason. What kind of DA is best and why. What speed do I use? Is speed 5 better than 6 and why? What about different curves on the vehicle? How should they be approached so I don't burn through the clear coat? When should a 3" pad be used? How about the thickness of the pad? What kind of pads should be used for compounding? Polishing? Applying wax or sealants? What brands of pads are better and why? How much product should be used? Too much or too little? Knowing these things allows for perfection. And nobody is repressing your freedom of speech, little snowflake. You have every right to say whatever you want. But you don't have the right to be heard. If Scott wants to delete your post he can.
