Grizzly Bear Kills Moose During Wedding - The Wedding Videographer's Take
You may have already seen the video, but here is my take on what happened that day in August of 2022. An absolutely surreal and once in a lifetime experience! Apologies for the shaky footage, I zoomed in on my footage and the bear was already pretty far away.

Many predators start eating once their prey is simply incapacitated, especially if they're fighting for food with a pack or other animals because they try to get their fill while they still can. Felines are really the only mammals who have mastered the art of killing swiftly by cutting off oxygen to the brain.

As a rock climber living in Colorado, I had the opportunity to go climbing in Glacier Park, so of course, I said yes. We were on Going-To-The-Sun mountain about 4 or 5 pitches up this pretty tough route. When right below us, we hear at first what we thought was a person yelling, then we hear the unmistakable growls and roar of a Grizzly and realize after looking down this bear had chased a moose straight to the base of the rock face we were on, and they had a pretty lengthy battle until they bear won and just started eating there. I've never had more motivation to complete a climb before in my life. And the hike out was the most terrifying 3 miles I've ever walked hahaha

Not if they understand Grizzlies. The mountain grizzlies like that one are the most aggressive because of how hard they have to work for food vs Coastal BB. @@magdebates2697 Not really. There is no such thing as clean kill in nature and every pray suffers tremendously. It's that lions are more specialized and therefore more "skilled" at killing while bears even aren't carnivores, they are omnivores that mostly eat plants and stuff so they are extremely messy when it comes to hunting. However, even some of the most specialized predators are messy and ineffective at killing before eating due to their physical traits and competition from other carnivores. Cheetahs and especially brutal African dogs come to mind.

The more I learned the more I understood the benefits of hunting. While they only hunt older animals who have lived and passed on their genes, death by hunting is instant. Death in the wild is slow and torturous, and all those not hunted will die this way, with great suffering.

The shaky footage is pretty impressive for a handheld telephoto shot. Those require a tripod. Handheld tele shot is similar to looking at an object/star on a microscope or telescope. Little moves make a big difference. From committing to the vows to the camera/lens swap and no tripod shot, this guy gained the respect of a fellow videographer.

Bears in Glacier...When we went, the 1st day we atrived at the park. A park ranger and his friend were riding their bikes in Glacier. If you're talking about the incident 5 or so years ago, it was a mountain biker just outside GNP that ran into a bear on the trail. The bear didn't "snatch" anyone off a bike. Just bad luck and was my biggest concern biking in GNP last year on Inside North Fork Rd from Apgar to Polebridge. Road was closed and only saw 3 people the whole time. I just hoped I could pedal faster than a bear if I saw one!

Animals like grizzlies, bears, and dogs beat their prey into submission before killing it. A wild cat immediately goes for the jugular or the back of the neck of its prey and snaps it. And as to being indifferent to another animal's suffering, that's mother nature. It's not about feelings and empathy. It's kill or be killed, famine or feast. Mother Nature is not a Disney movie.

@@vxy357 Disney? Omfg dude 🤦🏻‍♂️ No one is suggesting life is like a Disney movie 🤮 I am extremely aware of Nature, what I’m saying is bears do not care about their own kind whatsoever some animals actually do. I mentioned I live in Alberta we have an abundance of black bears and grizzlies. So I’m not delusional here and I hate Disney that is definitely not what I’m thinking whatsoever but I am saying they are extremely brutal even to their own kind or even their own offspring. I am usually the one that has to explain this to the Disney lovers that think it’s all sunshine and rainbows.
