This was a very satisfying video and I am not sure why as I shop at Waitrose myself and know exactly what they stock lol! I just like to see what people buy!

Would have liked to see final account when u got all this home - plus cost of individual items - if u live overseas it’s good to have individual comparisons - used to work in Waitrose at night stacking shelves whilst on holidays in UK - never realised it was so ‘upmarket’ - oh my. !!

The newspaper has been discontinued. The coffee will be reintroduced on a trial basis in 24 stores. I temp in Waitrose stores. They throw unsold meat and fish out.the butcher reduces it to half price. There’s legal issues with donating to homeless shelters or low income families apparently. If some one gets ill, are Waitrose accountable? They treat their staff well though.
@nicks402 жыл бұрын
I get a free newspaper from Waitrose every time they deliver. Unsold meat, fish, in fact anything is given to charity an hour after the store closes and is always still in date so problems with the end user should not be caused.

I visited the UK last year and went to Waitrose for the first time; the price was justified by the quality unlike Whole Foods. Wish they’d expand to the states!

Not being able to drive I have to shop on-line. Waitrose delivery slots were usually available a minimum 10 to 12 days after my order. Since they have introduced a £3 delivery charge delivery slots are plentiful from 2 or 3 days onward. Someone won’t be getting their bonus this year.

Grocery is a department in a supermarket where bags, bottles, packets and tins are. British supermarkets have baskets and trolleys only, carts are pulled by horses . British supermarkets are rated in this order: Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose. On prices cheapest to dearest: Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. The German supermarkets Aldi and Lidl appear in a separate list with both near the top of all supermarkets in Britain excluding the convenience stores which are Asda, Co-Op, Sainsbury’s Local, Spar (a German convenience store), Tesco Express and Metro. I use to work for Kwik Save (a discount Store which closed in 2004), Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s.

@seeyouleda133 жыл бұрын
I recognise that taking my mask off in a grocery store was not my smartest move. As I said in a previous comment my intention was for viewers to be able to hear me better, but in doing so I inadvertently may have put others and myself in danger. Not cool, but has not and will not happen again. With that being said, I really do hope that people wipe down all their products once they arrive home as they are probably exposed to much worse along the supply chain than my breath for 5 seconds! Thanks for watching :)

Nature provides us with enough food for every living creature on the planet. Farmers and supermarkets have the responsibility of growing, harvesting and distributing it responsibly. Billions of pieces of single-use plastic from each supermarket. Abusive and polluting factory farming. Selling products tested on animals and burning the rainforest for palm oil or soya. Use of sweat-shop factories. Clearly the food industry is not doing its job properly. Governments should legislate on these issues before it late. Waitroes are responsible as one of the UKs largest retailers, and should stop operating its business in such a dark, horrible and destructive manner.
@nicks402 жыл бұрын
When Nature was in charge of food supply, it supported a world-wide human population of 30,000. Waitrtose is certainly the greenest and most organic of all the supermarket chains, and is employee-owned as well. They don't use single-use plastics nor support factory farming and don't sell anything tested on animals or containing non-sustainable palm oil. No UK supermarket chain employs sweatshop labour. And government is always the problem, not the solution.

Waitrose is terrible. Only the rich and dumb shop there. Theyre insanely expensive, always understocked or booked up, service is underpar, the portions are small, and their branding/attitude clearly caters to uppity posh people that feel better than everyone else.

@@seeyouleda13 I didn't realise you used "Hey!" at the beginning of a sentence; I've only heard from the mouths of the few Canadian ambassadors on Ice Road Truckers at the end of a sentence or is that just, "Eh ?"
