This is probably the only airbrush video tutorial that I've seen that covers the most crucial beginner tips like mixing and cleaning. Everyone else says buy expensive crap and waffles on for what feels like an eternity about air pressure and paint flow! NICE!!!

I've bent a few needle tips by not having the end cap on, I picked up a precision cap, which was £2 or £3 seconds n Amazon, it's a lot more open and less likely to have tip drying and blowing off lumps of paint like kryptonite, more importantly it still protects the needle tip especially when you put it into the wash jar, which is when I seem to bend them. That's why learning to polish and straighten needle points was a god send. Info I'm happy to share.

Very informative! Without the cone on top of the airbrush I find it much easier to make very thin lines. Although for painting larger surfaces this might not be that big of a deal. Also great tips on cleaning and backwashing.

Nice vid . Brent just so you know , when you showed your eclipse CS by iwata you talked about the needle being coated in machine oil . Thats incorrect as macnine oil would and will contaminate the paint over time . Resulting in what is known as fisheye in the paint . What is used is a silicon based lube . Also you mentioned seals and your correct in mentioning cheeper ones have poor seals . Example iwata use teflon coated seals which are solvent proof as there more designed for automotive muruals and fine artwork. Good exsamples of quality Air brushes are Iwata , harder and steenback Badger , devilbliss , Spraymax . Mr Hobby . I hope this helps anyone reading this with a good solid choice .Advice here woulde be to spend a little more on a quality brush than waste time and money on a cheeper brush as parts are harder to find and quite frankly Very poor quality , plus they leak air which is not good for the life of your compressor over time .

Great video, do you get water spurts occasionally even though the compressor has condensation removal apperatice?
@mugetzu2 жыл бұрын
One of the paints I am using, even thought it's an airbrush paint, likes to dry quickly in the cup of the airbrush. Adding cleaner (or water) 'to clean' and blowing it out just sprays solids chunks and clogged the brush on me. Recommend dumping the water out vs spraying it out. Yes, I learned that on my first day of using my airbrush :(

this is really useful information, right now i have some nobrand airbrush from china , it works but its really bad, clogs all the time, its difficult to use so i need a new one, one question i got would be: what kind of a compressor should i get, are they universal so they work with all airbrushes, the connections i mean and also... what kind of needle / needles should i use? what size, i think right now i have a .2 or .3, its supposed to be for fingernails and cakes , thank you for all

Do you have a ratio water to paint? I have vallejo flow improver as well but I just can't get anything to shoot out as smooth as you do in this video other than water.
@Groundeffected2 жыл бұрын
Maybe your airbrush is blocked? I use about 60% paint 50% water roughly. But it’s no science. I just thin according to what I need so if I need a filter I’ll thin it to like 10paint / 90water or some paints are just thin enough so I’ll do the opposite for more opaque coverage.
@advanced63812 жыл бұрын
@@Groundeffected Ah man the struggle. I cleaned out my airbrush, it always shoots water out fine. But paint wise it's always up and down for me. Tried doing more water than paint and it just does "splattering" and random bursts, try doing more paint than water and it's too thick so it's hard 😭 Love your work though appreciate the comment

Between 15/20 psi roughly but I don’t really look too much I just go based of feel now. I will cover this though and actually look at the numbers when I do.
