It’s amazing if you look at the horse from day one to him now you probably wouldn’t have even thought that it was the same horse❤

@@HorsePerfectI have a question can I do like the whole training in the stall because I don’t want my horse to be jumping a fence and running away

If you’re trying to get him in the ditch, then you don’t let him rest at the top or bottom, you put him to work, and you only let him rest in the ditch itself. If you don’t, he’ll leap it because he’s inclined to get to the next rest spot. If you create work outside of the ditch, he’ll value the break the ditch offers, and he won’t be so inclined to avoid it.

Did you watch the whole thing? My initial goal was to get him to cross. And once he learned that then I wanted him to stop in the middle. I did it exactly as you said and I agree with your comment 👍🏼

You have the perfect land to teach him with all of those obstacles!

Greetings from Idaho. I know you wont give up on this horse. You never gave up on Comet. Stick with him. You're doing great. This horse is bringing out the best in you. Lots of back seat jockeys on this chat.

thank you so much for making this series!! i'm really excited to see the rest and to see how he turns out in the end! i'm new to horses and soon i will be moving somewhere where i can have and train my own, and watching you deal with a very difficult wild horse and explain everything is so encouraging to see. it's more helpful than watching a video of someone with a perfect textbook horse, because seeing the struggles will help people like me learn how we can deal with similar struggles we might come across when training horses 🤍

You’re so welcome! Thank you for watching! Yes absolutely agree with you! It’s more helpful to see the real deal that’s why I post all the days and even the hard moments! 😅🙌🏼

I like your approach of getting your horse to face obstacles during groundwork. However, the marks on his rump tells me that you are using too much physical force to get him to do what you ask. Slower is faster.

What happens is when the horse gets sweaty then the whip touches him then the whip gets sweaty and picks up dust then when it touches him it leaves a mark. Looks worse than it is because it will leave a mark even after the gentlest touch. I only use as much force as necessary and when the horse is listening and obeying I immediately release the pressure.

I noticed that you seem to be a little bit frustrated in the last couple videos, you even suggest that the horse is thinking "his way is better than yours", as if, you think he's trying to spite you??? It's OK to take a break now and then, It might do both you and the horse some good.

Every horse I’ve ever trained responded better than this horse. I’m on day 13 or so and by this point I should be giving him his 5th or sixth ride. So I hope you can try to put yourself in my shoes a little. Every single day struggling to make minimal progress when we’d already be riding and moving on with every other horse on the planet including 2 other wild horses I’ve trained that came in the same truck as this horse. It took everything in me not to quit on this horse because the amount of effort was definitely not worth it on paper when I could train 5-6 normal horses to a high level with the amount of time and energy I put into him. But you’ll see how he turns out and hopefully it all comes into perspective. I appreciate you sticking with us on the journey and just know it all works out well in the end 😃

@@HorsePerfect Thanks for your reply, after reading the information that you provided, it certainly puts things into perspective. And I can imagine what it's like to be in your shoes. Just by watching your last couple of videos, your frustration was apparent. Frustration can't be helpful to the horse, and it's certainly not good for you, and that's the only reason why I said "there's no harm in taking a break now and then". BTW, you certainly know better, but in my humble opinion, he certainly seems ready to be ridden. ( not that I have any illusions that it'll be a piece of cake, but he seems to be ready for the next step) I look forward to seeing you ride him. Que Dios los bendiga.
