Group Shred at Government Canyon // Beginner -Friendly Ride// San Antonio Mountain Biking

Government Canyon State Natural Area is known for having some of the chunkiest, techiest and most challenging trails in San Antonio.
For this reason I couldn't wait to get out here and do some riding.
I decided to drop in on a group ride to get more familiar with the area.
It turns out this was a beginner friendly group ride, so I used the experience to warm up for tougher days in the saddle.
I had a great time hangin out with some local San Antonio mountain bikers and checking out the famous dinosaur tracks.

The Joe Johnston trail is awesome. I once got some great drone footage at the Dino tracks. Good times.

Can’t wait to get into a little better shape to mt bike again. Just moved back to Texas and haven’t road in 20 years. I use to ride 700 acres, Bandera and Rocky Hill. This time will be different. i am 55 and now on a Fat Bike.

Welcome back! The good thing is there’s a lot of nice green and blue trails out here to ease back into it. And the weathers been more tolerable lately. I just came back to Texas a few months ago as well. Havin fun rediscovering the old trails 😎🤟

Cool vid, just moved away from SA. Though there are some other cool places to ride in SA, Gov Can has always been my favorite! Nothing in SA beats an epic ride to the back corners of Gov Can and ripping down Wildcat or Far Reaches to get back to the parking lot. Gonna miss that place

@@ChenzosWorld it’s a blast bro! Taking Joe Johnston to wildcat is a hell of a climb, was always more fun for us to take Joe Johnston all the way past the tracks, cabin, then loop around to connect to wildcat coming back. But you can’t really go out and have a bad time 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Yeah I think it’s a $6 fee. But I got the Texas Parks pass for $70. It gets you into any state park for free for the year
