Thanks for the nice comment. I have a FB, but note to the wise. Reduce the amount of time on FB everyday. FB is a major time drain. Only let yourself use FB at night before going to bed. Otherwise we're always checking FB.

Agree 110% with u on group studies. I really do see this as a waste of time. Old school people really tend to favour group work cuz of the knowledge that you can gather from different people who have read different literature. But, today with Tabs and internet, only thing needed is curiosity and little time. Kudos bro. Gr8 video.

I don't really like study groups either. I can't focus with other people because I always end up talking to them about other things :/ but I do like review sessions for tests and stuff like that :)

Question from India!! :) Could you please do a conversation/interview kind of a video with an IMG(preferably from India) about the steps to being a doctor in the USA for an IMG? I mean taking the USMLE and elective route. Thanks in advance :D

Here's what I've seen, study groups are pointless...because you should be "studying" the material the first time by yourself. People have different ways of learning and mine is very different than the chatterbox who will be next to me and will have to verbalize everything to learn it, while i will have to write everything down or visualize it to learn it. People learn in different ways, and I simple have never had an increase in efficiency in a study group (and as mentioned in the video, it actually decreased my efficiency) But, i have found that review groups can be very efficient. I have never worked in a review group before, since i only just recently saw how they work, but they can be very efficient. What I've seen is groups of students who meet the same scheduled time every week (maybe the end of the week) and review what they have learned during that week. What seemed to work for them was assigning each person in one group a topic/lecture, and that person had to basically teach the rest of the students the topic. For example, one person might talk through all of glycolysis/pdh/krebs etc. using a whiteboard and draw all the clinical correlation on the sides. Then she would ask questions and the others in the group would have to answer them. Basically, one person would become a teacher and quiz everyone else, and the rest) of the people in the group would have a way to make sure they understood all the material to the same level the other students did. This review group idea can be a good way to test yourself to make sure you are learning all the CORRECT material to the right DEPTH (which for me has often been a struggle), but will not work if you have not studied all the material before. But it will be a good incentive to stay on schedule and learn everything on a weekly basis. I have yet to try it out, but if you want to try anything, i think the review groups have the best outcomes.
