Pay attention how the Saturn version’s background water has almost a 3D effect in “Anything but Tangerines” due to the Saturn’s hardware allowing it to do that. Not even the PS1 version has it for some reason

One of the few games that really showed what HUGE potential 16bit consoles had. Animations, the drawing sprites were jaw dropping. Same was with Toy Story.

Came out at the latter end of the consoles lifespan Made with Dave Perry's tried and true Genesis engine Little to no publisher meddling/oversight Same compression/animation techniques used previously in Aladdin A PERFECT storm of what was needed in the industry at the time

All my nostalgic memories are with the SNES version as that's what I had as a kid (alongside the original EJW, also on SNES) - but from a technical standpoint the Saturn should be the best console to handle it

На GENESIS самая любимая, а технически лучшая на Saturn. Итого: 1 место - Saturn, 2.- ps1, 3 - Genesis/snes, 4 - gba

Saturn has line scrolling on the sparkling ocean in the background... PS1 does not. Zero movement. Saturn is the best version of EWJ2.

@so-vp2qhI think I actually like how the Genesis and SNES versions of that stage look better than both the Saturn and PS1 offerings. 😂 The lighting just looks better to me.

1/ Saturn 2/ Mega Drive Search upsilandre on tweet ter, and you'll see his comparisons of the Mega Drive vs SNes Earthworm Jim sprite. OUCH ! Add to that the width of the game area, 320 pixels on MD, 256 on SNes... There are more colors on the Nintendo, okay. But it does not go beyond the 2 points mentioned above. For the sound, overall I prefer the Mega Drive music and the sound effects on SNes. Technically, the Saturn version is the superior version, with the PS1 95 % behind. But you might as well have a more different alternative with the 16 Bit MD version, and the comfort of no loading time. If you have the Saturn version, the PS1 version is useless.

GENESIS version of course !!! Those who have eyes know that the backgrounds respect the graphic style and the chromatica harmony. Even if there are good ideas on other consoles, they are unfortunately missed either due to lack of time or finances or because they called on another graphic designer.
