This is so helpful. I have always thought of growing my own curry leaves because they are not always available in the Indian store whenever I happen to be there and even if I bring some home, they go bad quite fast.

I am Shylaja and live in Atlanta. GA. . Summer is hot and allmost freezes on and off in winter . I bring the pot outside during summer and take it inside in November . The plant grows well and looks very healthy but does not have the nice fragrance / flavor . What do u suggest to make the curry leaves have more flavor .Thanks.
@Bhavnaskitchen4 жыл бұрын
The flavor and fragrance in fact comes from the climate. The curry leaves plant best grown in tropical, the more the sunny days, better it grows. The only thing I do to my curry leaves plant is feed cow manure regularly, throw some lemon 🍋 lime peels near roots, sometimes drizzle cooking oil in roots

Hello, i have a Curry plant and I placed in our balcony, then it stops growing. I already change the pot to a bigger one thinking it is because of the pot. Then, the branches still look weak, i mean It doesnt look healthy like the curry plant from your video. Is it because of too much sunlight? Eversince we lived in our new apartment my curry plant's branches are bent over. Do i have to place it indoors? i always water it twice everyday. Thank you

Curry leaves are tropical so no problem with sunlight but it is in fact good for curry leaves plant. Do you use cow manure.

Kia Ora (Hello in Te Reo Maori) from New Zealand! I have just bought my first curry tree and I find your video most Helpful. I live in Auckland, New Zealand, and have never tried to grow a curry tree before. Climate here is much like Southern Mediterranean. As my new plant is a relative "baby", should I over winter it indoors? I have a conservatory, so that is no problem. Temperature here rarely goes below 40f. So perhaps for the first year, indoors would be better? Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, it needs to be indoors if the temperature go less than 70F. It grows better in tropical weather

Mix 2 teaspoons of detergent in a gallon of water. Wash the plants with the mixture. Use a combination of spraying the plant and wiping the scale with a soft brush.
