I have seen many videos about making bean sprouts. This is the best one - and the simplest. I use cheap cheese cloth and simply throw it away, not worth trying to get all the roots out. This works much better than those expensive sprouting jars, and it uses all common kitchen items. Almost any type of strainer will work - I use the cheap plastic ones, but have also used a stainless colander. I have made the stir fry with chopped raw shrimp also - shrimp cooks very fast so add about halfway.

It's handmade. It's more eco-friendly than an automatic bean sprout machine.

I've also seen a video where you can use paper towel.

Do you guys know if there is a danger of, i think it was salmonella or some such disease making these. I can’t say it was with mung beans sprouts. I think i was sprouting lentils and other beans or bean type things. But i kept reading stuff like “get the right lentil or ......disease” however as you can see i didn’t really get that facts straight. perhaps all that talk is to sell yes organize products and special containers that arent really necessary. I remember as a kid growing cress in plastic tubs in cotton wool soaked in water in our airing cupboard where we kept towels to warm. Perhaps those were days when people didnt worry till risks were huge or perhaps we were blissfully ignorant. I thought seeing as you’ve made them you’d learned and understood about that all. Take care and keep safe.

@@aidanpoulter9514 After watching many YT videos on the topic, I've successfully grown mung bean sprouts in different types of containers, and haven't had any problems. I simply followed what seems good advice to prevent contamination--start with good whole seeds (discarding any cracked/bad ones), use clean containers & implements, lay beans in a single layer for adequate air flow, and water/rinse & drain as often as necessary. Good luck!

@@aidanpoulter9514 You can disinfect mung beans with boiling water. The seeds will still survive and sprout.
As long as they're moist, and you keep them in the dark, you can put them basically anywhere. I use an old kettle, which has a lid on top, and on the drain. Whenever the sprouts need draining, put some water through the drain, shake a little, and drain the remaining water. Rinse, repeat, a couple of days. It's usually done when the sprouts knock the top lid off :D
Thanks for the English translation. An excellent video and as I have the Chinese chives (rare in the US), I'll use your recipe for cooking the bean sprouts. Thanks again.
Simple, straightforward, much better video than all the Americans. TY for the English subtitles.

Thank you, lovely video 🙌🏻. May I know how do you remove the bean sprouts from the gauze to use? And do you re-use the gauze for growing the sprouts? Thanks.
