We have a Mount Royal Plum tree and it's a fantastic choice for anyone looking to grow plums in a cold climate.

Mine just arrived and I have her snug in the ground. Got her from Washington, and now we'll see how well she grows here in North East Texas. Would not have a plum tree except I learned of this type on this video. Maybe you didn't plant yours, but you knew you had a sure thing and wanted to tell the world. I can't wait till my neighbors want to know about this tree when it's strong limbs blow in the wind loaded with blue plumes. YEAH!

Oh my they look absolutely stunning! They kinda look like those expensive Japanese purple grapes all bunched up like that. This is definitely going to be on my list to grow! Thanks for sharing!

I just grafted 9 of these trees, so I was happy to discover such a glowing endorsement for them. Great video.

I hope the grafts have taken!

All 9 grafts were successful and have each pushed out about 12 to 14" of growth (It's July 2nd). I'm not making any pie crusts yet though.

The Mount royal plum is self pollinating but we got 2 trees. Its our second year they have a few flowers but no plums yet. Hopefully see something next year. We live in Grande Prairie AB.

Oh wow! I am also here and am looking at adding one of these to my yard.

If you are not getting plums, you may not have enough polinators around. Use a fine paint brush or a qtip and polinate the flowers yourself! I do the same with my mount royal as it often has flowers out before the polinators come about.

Hi l have question l have a plum tree but its never give a fruit just fowring than the flowers fell
@theweekendbeckons94394 жыл бұрын
Younes Boulares that might happen if the flowers aren’t cross pollinated with the right plant. It’ll flower and you might even see tiny little fruit forming, and then they’ll just drop off. Google the type of plum you have and what plants cross pollinate. We have a double-flowering plum as our pollinator

ANY PROBLEMS WITH BUGS LAYING EGGS INSIDE THEM ?
@theweekendbeckons94395 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any bug issues yet. I have seen ants on the trunk, but nothing on the fruit themselves.

Is it a damson or true plum?
@theweekendbeckons9439 Жыл бұрын
I don’t know for sure but I think damson plums are less sweet and better for cooking, and these ones are delicious for fresh eating.

@@theweekendbeckons9439 this. I purchased an Italian plum only to discover its a damson

If you plant plum from seed The trees generally begin bearing fruit four to six years after planting. you should buy plum tree at home depot ,lowe you just wait less than a year the tree has bear fruit.
