HI Gary, I heard you say that Apricot branches should be pruned to where they are at least 1 foot apart. How about the fruit spurs on the branches? Are those thinned out?

I have 3 cherry trees Minnie Royal, Royal Crimson and Royal Lee. They are planted in a triangle, 2 feet apart. All 3 fruited the second year (last year), but just a handful of cherries on each. I noticed that the trunks have grown thicker faster than other stone fruits in the yard. They are planted in the far back around 60 feet from the house so they are exposed to some good chill here in the Robinson Ranch area of Trabuco Canyon.
