Nice, recently I started using old plastic containers from grape, salads, etc. like you use them.

Absolutely 💯! I just planted some red acre cabbage in one of another a few days ago. I don’t like thinning out seedlings when I can pot all of them Incase I loose any when they are transplanted into the garden. When people ask for vegetables from the garden I ask them if they want a plant instead. lol 😂

Morning Ms T.... I see you over there getting all into the garden You did very well on your first year. I hope you stay at it. Best thing I have done for me in some time. Will you be growing anything this Fall?
@MsTwiththeTea1980 Жыл бұрын
@@growingoutthebox thank you so much 😊 I just potted some spinach and green beans for brassica season 😊
@growingoutthebox Жыл бұрын
@@MsTwiththeTea1980 Good choices… You should get a nice harvest from your green beans before the cold sets in. The spinach could be a head scratcher because you can do everything right and they still don’t germinate. If you have any issues with the spinach I have a short that should help. You may need to prime the spinach seeds first. But you are doing good with the garden stuff. I see you doing your thing. 🤛🏽

Can you just plant those seeds straight into the ground or do you have to start them in something smaller and then transfer?
@growingouttheboxАй бұрын
@@dat70sgurley You absolutely can sow brassica seeds directly into the soil on a 85 to 90 degree day. They’re more likely not to survive but yes you can. If you wait for temps to drop for optimal conditions, chances are more likely that your seeds will germinate but your plants will be smaller and not likely to survive the temperature drop or winter. You would drop seeds early in a controlled environment to allow for the best conditions of your seeds to germinate and grow best. By the time outdoor conditions are right you have maturing plants strong enough to shortly provide you with a harvest but also strong enough to survive winter. Everything should be taken within context. I wouldn’t recommend watering your garden daily but if it’s 95 plus degrees? “Context”….

How many seeds do you put in each hole?
@growingoutthebox6 ай бұрын
For collards maybe 2 per cell. They germinate pretty easy.
@denesestanley7011 Жыл бұрын
Do you sell your seedlings? I would love to purchase some. Thanks
@growingoutthebox Жыл бұрын
I don’t sell seedlings Denese. However, I do give quite a few away. I always grow more than I need and I hate to just cut them out as most people do. I repot them and gift them to friends and family who want to try their hand at gardening.

Why do you cover it with the plastic?

To create a humid condition better for germination.

Do you sell collard greens seeds because the one I keep buying from Amazon only be like micro greens it won’t grow any farther

I really need to get to the post office and purchase some stamps. I would give them to you. I collect seeds every year. I will have them in my store once I get everything setup. $10 I’m growing. “Growing Out The Box Seed Pack”.
