Hi Peggy I believe what you have it’s a anthurium radican x luxurian. From what I can see in your video the petiole are round shaped were as a luxurian has more of a square like petiole. I do have both anthuriums. Please do correct me if I’m wrong.

Thank you for the information. You may very well be correct. It was sent to me as a Luxurians, but I have wondered if it was the correct id. Thanks again!

I watched another plant person’s leca video. He does 50/50 leca and perlite. So leca then sprinkle perlite, tap tap tap tap, repeat with final layer of leca. I tried this combination with two of my plants.

Very interesting. I've always just used the leca and haven't strayed since it works for me. I say find what works best for you and stick with it. Best of luck and happy growing.

Thank you, Peggy, for that demonstration. I loved seeing the difference in how cuttings survive or not with different mediums. You've given me a great idea with using the perlite in place of the lecca. The result was enough for me to order another bag of perlite and try with some of my struggling cuttings. Thanks for sharing!

i have a declining anthurium with me too! i put it in moss but it didnt seem to be very happy, so it's in water now; im not sure if that will work though. if it continues being sad i might get perlite and see how it fares!

I was cringing when you made the cutting-always a scary process for me on a special plant. You made an interesting observation with the air/moisture ratio of the potting medium. I moved my magnificum from soil to lechuza pon and it is finally recovering. My radicans really needs to be propagated and I'm going to use your method. As always, thanks for sharing your tips.
