I was in from 1970-1983 left to join the military. Still struggling with the teachings of HWA. 58 years old now and saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:31" Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." We must be careful that we don't "turn the grace of God into lasciviousness," this is a quote from the Lord's brother Jude, from the book of Jude .

I grew up in a church my grandfather created after being kicked out of World Wide and he has now passed and my mom still is apart of the cult to this day. It has ruined her life and my families. Thinking of you Ray! Thanks for these videos.

I was only in World Wide when I was a small child. I'm 39 now. I do remember a lot of the stuff You mentioned. We grew up in one of the splinter groups. United church of God. more relaxed yet still had some of the old ways.

Grew up in WWCG 1967-1980. Left to establish a splitter group of WWCG that I call crazy church lite. Unfortunately I raised my child in that group-left in 2003. LOTS of damage from both.

81-97 I could never get a clear definition of what we could do on the sabbath besides eat, breathe, sleep bathe and go to church.
@raybo1018 Жыл бұрын
I was in there only six years, not even quite six years, but the sabbath laws seemed to change like the wind in there

No Tv for us either but Dad would go past sunset for his Star Trek ,I hated the Day of atonement I would get a really bad headache and vomit ,. We drove a Hour to Columbus Ohio from Galion. What was it like for you in Grade School with the school Holiday Parties ? Did the Teachers question why you could not keep Christmas and etc ?
@raybo1018 Жыл бұрын
I had one teacher question me, the others did not. Grade school was hell, nothing short of pure hell.

You are so loved . I read the Plain Truth magazines, and my brother was in and out of it. I was married. I had been to an Adventist Church, so when we lived in S.C. we went to a warehouse where the World Wide Church was gathering Armstrong was not there. His voice was on tape! We all sat there listening. He said something about a number of years from then would be happening. It was like the setting of the date of Jesus returning. Our boy was living. I am so thankful that year 2012 passed. We ate certain foods, taught things like keeping Jewish other days, etc. The FREE BOOKLETS got many to have that in their home. Yes, he was into marketing. He placed himself in photos with meeting World Leaders. When his wife died, his son said, he did not even hug his wife goodbye! I am out of several cults. My son is a Thinker. My husband is not into anything. Our daughter is active Catholic. I want to be and then I don't because of all the killings in their history. My daughter is thinking, why was Sunday used for the Sabbath?
@raybo1018 Жыл бұрын
Christians began holding the common assembly on the first day of the week in apostolic Times, to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I to read " the plain truth" in UK. It was weird l couldn't make much sense of it and every time " the end was coming" nothing happened. It no longer exists and when l think back l just wasted my time but it never really affected me to the extend that poor Americans seem to have endured. It must be terrible for Christians waiting decade after decade for a kingdom that has been proven never to come. I think it's just a money making racket.

I grew up in UCG. Now that I have kids of my own I’m really questioning everything and wanting to find a church home. There is a lot I agree with the UCG but there is so much I just don’t understand. I want a lot for my kids that I had but I can’t give and I feel bad for them.
@raybo101813 күн бұрын
Ask the Lord for wisdom and He will give it to you. Seek and you will find. The UCG is just Armstrongism lite

The sabbath day is a COMMAND! I don’t feel we should be judged on them etc by man. But yeah
@umajunkcollector6 ай бұрын
A day of rest, is a good thing, but is old covenant for the nation of Israel. A day of R&R to remember the exodus, and God as our Creator and Savior. So Jesus Christ is our Sabbath, we aee to understand why He is King and Lord above all, as He was above Pharaoh. Since it was a national day off of work, the people of Israel went to the synagogue to hear the Bible, because most were illiterate and did not have a copy of Scripture.The only Bible was at the temple. Herb was like Pharasees about keeping Sabbath HIS WAY. But there is nothing wrong for keeping the Sabbath as Christians, like the original Church.
@ethanmcdonald58995 ай бұрын
@@umajunkcollector the sabbath was before the nation of israel actually. and is no different than any other commandment. and will be eternal.

Well I had many decades of experience with the WWCoG and have seen it all. Look, society is pretty messed up even without the WWCoG - 50% divorce rates (and those that are still married 50% wish they were), kids gone woke and a muck, financial difficulties/collapse coming, nearing WWIII, Trump, and the country is near civil war, etc ... To blame our problems on the WWCoG seem petty. I do understand WWCoG had its issues. A lot of times it was local ministers getting big headed - they were mere people. However, all these "growing up in the WWCoG" videos seem more about individual issues rather than the WWCoG. Perhaps the thing nagging many malcontents is that WWCoG had a lot of truth and remain puzzled. No, axes to grind ... people will do what they want. Like many, perhaps a regathering will come ... for those that have a level head and can see beyond the small issues. World events make me wonder more about WWCoG not less. Things are going to break soon - but this time let's not set dates ... ;-) @@raybo1018

This my other youtube account...@@ChartGPTtoday I don't know what era you were in that cult. I'm simply talking about my experiences as a child who had no choice but to comply. I do know that the cult changed their beliefs like the wind, but during the time I was there sabbath activities were extremely limited. Alcohol was a huge issue in that church. If you're going to tell me that wasn't the case, then either you were either in a very unusual sector of the church, or something is wrong with your memory. My parents had a very selective memory on what happened there because not only were they there voluntarily, but they became borderline abusive during that time period. It's easy to block these things out when you're the guilty party. And how am I blaming the world's problems on the WCG? That seems pretty ludicrous. I'm pouring my heart out on what happened and exposing what made it a cult so hopefully someone else will think twice before entering a deviant group like it.

What's your preacher won't teach you , and doesn't really want you to know! The Bible clearly shows that Israel and Judah, (the Jews), fought Wars against one another. They were separate Nations, and each had their own Kings. Israel was made up of 10 of the tribes, and the nation of Judah was comprised of the tribe of Judah the Jews, part of the tribe of Benjamin, and many of the tribe of Levi. 1Kings 15:32 "And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. 33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years." Don't hide your eyes from this biblical truth. Asa was the king of Judah, and Baa-sah was King of Israel, at war against one another!
