On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Seems strange that he said the F-16 is great at 2 circle but not so much at 1 circle. I thought the F-16s whole deal is that it's extremely maneuverable (better for 1 circle) but is single engine and has lower thrust (better for 2 circle).

the f16 is indeed a 2 circle fighter, it's actually got HIGH thrust. It excels in 2 circle (rate fights) but is capable of a few good turns in the 1 circle (which is a radius fight).

F-16 pilot here. We actually beat F-35's all day in a WVR dogfight. Given they would kill us BVR, but the viper wins against nearly every fighter in the world in closer quarters.

continuous rod warhead, it doesn't use the blast as the main damage dealer, it uses the shrapnels to do all the damage. There's been a few cases with bigger missiles with similar type of warheads that shot down an aircraft while missing by 100 feet.

I think it's because it's a HOBS excercise he's showing that that the f16 can still give a good challenge to a one-circle opponent.

2 circle requires higher speeds, which means larger turning radius, which means larger distance between the jets, which means the other guy can just pull hard to point his nose in your direction across the circle, fire a missile and the missile is likely to hit because it has the time and space it needs to readjust itself (as long as it's a good, modern missile). Once the missile hits it doesn't matter he lost a lot of speed to pull hard. With 1 circle the speeds are lower, radii/distances smaller, which means that most of the time if you tried to fire your missile, it would already be so wildly off the target by the time it left the rail that it would have no chance to catch up - this is what "jamming the WEZ" means and why you will see pretty much all the jets go for 1 circle if capable missiles are involved.
