Alright another Hawaii video! I wish we had the convenience stores and selection like Japan, Im addicted to those stores, especially the fried chicken and drink selection. keep up the videos, lets go on a hike. thanks.

I dunno. Compared to Thailand and Taiwan I felt like japan was in a similar league as Korea- a normal convenience store. Of course I haven’t tried their fried chicken 😉 This Waikiki Lawson was more stocked than the Tokyo ones tho, but it’s also cause they had Hawaii foods and items.

OMG you must try Okonomiyaki in Japan! I finally tried it when I was in Hiroshima and WOW! I'm not a big foodie when I travel but OMG!

Folks visiting to the United States in Hawaii may definitely remember this Lawson's store. It is known as Lawson Station in Japan, formerly Lawson's Food Store and Lawson's Party Foods here in the mainland US. They're not sure about Lawson's returning back to the mainland US in Ohio, but it will continue to serve the state of Hawaii and all of Japan. 🌸Aloha from Orlando, Florida

I know I have seen Lawson stores around, but I can't remember if they were in Thailand or not, guess I will find out soon enough, haha. I am pretty sure there was one in Taiwan, but hey, I'm getting old and I have that CRS disease, lol. Thanks for sharing this video with us on how to get 3 course meals in Lawson's stores. I might have to try it, or see if I can scrounge up a 3 course meal at one of the 7/11's or Family Marts soon!😊

I’m not sure if Lawson - actually they do have Lawson in SEA !!! But I think it’s more like a beauty pharmacy than it is a convenience store.

I ate something from all the combini's in Japan. Mostly, coffee from 7/11. But, Lawsons has their own brand of sweet cakes and cookies that were great. One of my Japanese friends said it was a must and I am so glad I got them. The one thing I did not get from any of the stores was an Onigiri. I know, crazy. But, that means I must go back soon! Christine, are you up for it?
@grrrltraveler5 жыл бұрын
Good to know about the sweet breads! I’m convinced I must’ve missed something in all the Tokyo convenience marts I visited. I’ll have to research and return for another try. What I’ve noticed is some marts have pictures on onigiri so you have an idea of what’s in them.

@@grrrltraveler From the late Anthony Bourdain to MIkey Chen, a lot of people have gone nuts over Japanese convenience store egg salad sandwiches. I don't know if it's the mayo or the super soft bread but it's really tasty! I tried the egg salad here in the Hawaii 7-eleven and sadly it's not the same! Great vid by the way!

Each of the “big three” in Japan (Lawson, Family Mart and 7/11) have items I love. But I’d say Family Mart is my favourite because of their amazing fried chicken. 7/11 and Lawson have great house brand desserts. And the 7/11 karaage chicken is the bomb. Lawson does amazing pasta dishes with fresh handmade pasta!

ALOOOHA GRRRL TRAVELER. Daikon + OOOOO Den = YUM! That would be my favorite, as long as the broth (most important) was oishi / tasty. As for where and what to try at one of these combini store's, I have heard that the egg sandwich on white bread at 7-11 in Japan is a must try so at your next opportunity (assuming you like egg salad sandwiches) perhaps you could give it a try? Great souvenir / food video! Thanks for the hard work you obviously put into your videos. 🤙

I have not been to Hawaii in probably? 32 years! I need to go! put it on my bucket list and Lawsons will make me feel I am in Japan too. Not sure if it woild be very expensive to fly to Hawaii on way to Japan? since it is kind of half way? It sounds like you may go ??? to mainland then Japan? or do you you fly direct to Tokyo? I also went to Big Island for the Iron Man as massage therapist. Thank you for video gave me again some inspiration to break a huge gap of not coming to Hawaii and go!!!

I'll be back home to retire in 2 years and I can see this place will solve my footwear problems completely. When the regular old pair of Locals I'll walk around in aren't enough, why, I can stop in here and get a pair of super flowery-ass zori for those formal occasions, like going to the Pacific Club.

I just discovered the same Lawson shop this past Pearl Harbor Memorial Day before the parade. My sons were in the parade so instead of waiting at the end, I decided to grab some yummy oden. I'm going to make it an annual tradition for me now whenever I have to be there for a parade.
