I charge my Tesla 80% every weekday at a SuperCharger, 100% every Saturday. I don't care what others say, that's what I do. So far so good.

Great content. One word of advice. Some folks watch these videos with headphones so the sudden blast of high volume music at the end is more than just startling.

That was so funny with the EV skeptic popping up everywhere. Good advice on charging. It would be good to add tips for appartment dwellers on how to get L2 charging at home, work, or other places.

I've seen data that charging exclusively by supercharging is not hugely detrimental vs slow level 1/2 charging. The two biggest factors affecting battery is age and temp (worst is heat). So don't sweat it if you only supercharge because you don't have a home charger. The vast data tells us it's ok.

I believe this is true as well. I fast charge (no superchargers in Hawaii) every time I charge my M3 and have not experienced any issues. if Tesla thought it was so detrimental to the battery to fast charge, why do they keep experimenting with different ways to make charging even faster?

What is about LFP battery in Model 3 ? Tesla recomends to Charge always to 100 % ? What is about high tempartures an charging to 100 % SOC with LFP Battery? Thank you / viele Grüße aus Deutschland

It is good to mention the Nissan LEAF has no Battery Thermal Management. Their batteries lose capacity the fastest. The Tesla and chevy Bolt batteries hold up the best. They are some of the few that cool even when off and not plugged it. That is important. Tesla is the only battery that pre conditions on the way to a Super Charger if you use their nav to get there.

Great video as always! My concerns is with home charging is that where I live there is no night tariff and now it’s 30p so it’s like 40 cent/kW which its insane. My MS is free supercharging and I live close to a supercharger. I think 20% to 50 or 60% sessions without preconditioning won’t do that much harm because the heat is the problem, so if you charge it quickly preferably not from low state of charge, you put less stress on the battery. I think the best if you have solar and you charge it during the day on a slow charger.

If you own a EV and have to take it in, when the mechanic says “ oh, it’s just the battery” suddenly that phrase takes on a whole new meaning! 😳😳😩😩

Here's a free tip...don't buy a electric car. It is still in it's infancy development. Batteries have been know to explode. The most common problem, batteries don't last as long as they should, and last, they have limited range. STAY FOSSIL FUEL cars and trucks. Reliable and easy to fix.

Nope its in full blown production. Gas is known to explode. Very flammable. You are making the exact same arguments old people made when cell phones came out.

The battery pack of an EV is so heavy that it's equal to the weight of six adults that's before the real passengers sit in. The US government will "surprisingly" announce later the repair cost of roads and bridges have tripled because of the impact the millions of EVs have had on the infrastructure not to mention ecological disaster that is involved in making and dumping the EV batteries. FUN FACT: If we take curb weight to be 25% extra for Telsa Model S compared to Toyota Camry thats 550 kilograms or 1200 lb which is the weight of SIX Americans on diet 🤣🤣🤣

Bullshit, semi trucks are way harder on roads than any EV. A F150 pickup weighs more than a lot EV's and I see those everywhere.

I bought a MYLR and have been really happy with it. My range advice? Charge to 100% & discharge to 0%. Accelerate like you stole it. Use supercharging frequently. Basically, use and abuse the battery relentlessly to ensure it either fails or degrades below 70% capacity well before the 8 year 120K mile battery warranty ends. Then while other owners are babying their old battery, you’ll get a newly refurbished battery free of charge. The worst thing to do is to go middle of the road regarding how much your baby the battery. That’s no man’s land because the battery is likely to fail or degrade below 70% not to long after the 8 years or 120K miles warranty, which is why they chose those numbers.
