This is a situation on being intersex with XY chromosomes. Only 0.018% of the population of all of humanity is intersex/has a form of AIS. This is extremely rare and saying the differences between male and female do not exist because of this is a complete abuse of logic and intellect. In extremely rare situations like this in sports, in order to make it fare, one has to determine if the person is more male or more female. If the person has xy chromosomes, testes and went through puberty with the same testosterone as men, and still has testosterone levels equivalent to men. Then all reason deduces that the person needs to compete with males.

I agree that the IOC should do qualification tests and be open and clear about the qualification rules and test results. This situation is very unfair to Khelif. This 25 year old is not at all the villain the media is unfairly portraying her as. The IOC should have implemented rules that ensured the results would never be disputed. The IOC failed to do so, despite knowledge of similar recent history. However, Carini is a weak boxer and also a drama queen. Look at her poor results on BoxRec. Hamori had no problem staying the course against Khelif and did reasonably well but Khelif was better. Carini would also have been trashed by Hamori, and Hamori is not undefeated. I doubt Khelif is a straight up 100% man. I do not have a problem calling her a woman, in social terms, after seeing the Hamori fight. Worst case it is some rare condition. It depends on the qualification rules. And then the result will obviously be disputed if the IOC is pretending that there is nothing to see. They need to make the rules clear once and for all, it is not fair to Khelif.

It's common for Dr's and parents to hide and intersex newborn and then to try and "fix" them while the are young. Typically it's baby boys being labeled female because it's easier to take away from something than to add to something. So really blame society for this not her. Based on the fact that she has never considered herself intersex even there's a real good chance she already has a natural feminine body and was never "fixed" that way as an infant and a good chance she produces enough estrogen to still function as a female. That is why she is labeled a female. Unless she says other wise she will always be female no matter what a chromosome defect says.

Don't know about gender stuff but old enough to remember east German swimmers etc that were given PEDs and changes. Female body chemistry varies like men's but because of child bearing and hormone related to they don't build lean muscle like men. It's why they are better at endurance swimming with same rules men are stronger all things equal but aren't as buoyant and end up spending energy to stay above water where woman are naturally more buoyant via fat stores in body even when incredibly fit. Exactly. I box and I know that a lot of those losses that Imane Khelif had occurred when he was younger and a less experienced boxer. Yes, a year or 2 of training can make a difference in the ability of a boxer. Also, becoming a fully grown adult male also makes a difference in a few years. What people don't understand is that in international boxing, you win by making contact with your opponent. It's not a fight like you would see in US boxing. Khelif is now a fully grown adult man with more experience, so hence more wins. Also, technically, Khelif is not a good boxer. There are better biological women boxers who have way better techniques thank Khelif. But because Khelif is a biological man, he has clear advantages like brute strength, longer limbs and reach to hit his opponent, and larger longer lungs for more air and better endurance. I watched some of his fights and all he does is have to hit a woman a few good times in the face and body and she's wounded because his punches are 2.6 times stronger than an adult woman. The woman is then struggling at that point because she's injured. So then he can start mauling her with punches at that point. When he gets hit by women, he's not flinching or even affected by their blows so he's not going to get worn down. The other tactic I've seen him use is basically chasing the woman around the ring and mauling her with wild and strong punches. Because Khelif has better endurance and much stronger punches than his female opponents, he can wear his female opponents out quicker. If he was in adult men's boxing, he would lose badly because those boxers have boxing skills and strength. But it's easy for him to win on the adult women's circuit as a fully grown adult man because he's got male strength and endurance on his side. He doesn't really need good boxing techniques if he can injured women early on in the match with a few good punches; or just wear a woman out with his better endurance.

Even if she was born as a woman, even the parts, it can change in adulthood. It occured here in India before, in my locality specifically,two incidents, they were born with female privates.
