Thanks for sharing your edge routine. Do you ever experience build up on the locs near your edges? Also how do you remove the gel from your edges?
@ImaniGoodridge5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I don't experience build up. Whenever I remove the gel, I do so while washing my face with my mild face wash. But don't focus the face wash on the edges. Just used the diluted sudsy water to help it loosen up and run warm water over your edges to get most of it out. This also helps to avoid acne on the skin in this area. I then moisturize my edges with a few drops of oil (not too much to avoid slippage!) To avoid build up from gel that I might have missed when washing my face, when washing my hair, I make sure I'm massaging the edges with my shampoo while lathering it with plenty of water. I hope I was able to answer your question! 😊

Thanks for the video goodie, Love your hair, how long does it take for your retightening?
@ImaniGoodridge5 жыл бұрын
Nagaysha Dudney Thanks for watching! ♥️ It varies based on how much new growth I have, if I take breaks, etc. I never do it for speed. Anywhere from a couple hours to a weekend. Please watch my Sisterlocks Tag video which would answer your question and other general questions regarding my hair much better than I could in a comment 😊

How do you keep the fly away hair from your edges (8:27) tucked in your grid? I find that my hair still curls up. Also, how do you handle buildup around your edges?
@ImaniGoodridge5 жыл бұрын
If you find that your edges are still too long even after twisting some of the edges before applying the gel, twist those fly away ends around nearby locs. Do so once the gel is mostly dry so you don't ruin your edges! Also, to avoid buildup, whenever I remove the gel, I do so while washing my face with my mild face wash. I answered this in a previous comment but I just wanted to make sure you saw my response! 😊

@@ImaniGoodridge Ahh I understand now. I have traditional locks, and I find that most gels leave a nasty residue on my hairline after a few hours. It sucks because unlike sisterlocks I can't wash+retwist my hairline everytime I wear gel. I think I need to find a new edge gel. Thanks for responding!

@@ImaniGoodridge Ohh noo that's okay. ^^ I've actually never used that product. I was referring to Eco Styler. I don't think I've ever seen your edge control here in the U.S. Sorry I confused you!

Yesss, I've been looking for jewelry made for sisterlocks. Headed over to her Etsy now. Do you just slide them on?
@ImaniGoodridge3 жыл бұрын
Yes! And if you have issues doing it, you can use thread to help pull your loc(s) through. She sends great instructions along with your order as well!

Have any tips for swimming with microlocs/ sisterlocks? Do you band your hair?
@ImaniGoodridge4 жыл бұрын
There's no need to band your sisterlocks if they're already loced. Braid your hair and put on two swim caps to keep the water out if your locs are not fully loced/mature!

Does the gel leave buildup?
@ImaniGoodridge4 жыл бұрын
Nope! That's one reason why I love this brand so much. Whenever you wash your face at the end of the day, make sure you rinse the gel out with water.
