I can't imagine how exciting it must be to have a full-sized GT-40 sitting in the garage.. It's fun to see a pristine garage at the start of the build; so many projects are filmed in garages/sheds where you can barely move for other unfinished junk. G'day Ryan, for now I'm largely referencing the build manual and trying to identify a logical order to avoid installing and uninstalling parts too often, but its inevitable I'll probably overlook something. It's been suggested I mount a whiteboard on the wall and keep a list of tasks that I'm unable to finish or need help with etc. I'm told most areas are generally accessible for most of the build so there is no hard and fast sequence that needs to be followed. Having said that, I am a Project Manager, so I'm sure it won't be long before I develop a program or spreadsheet! 🤣

Are you going to keep the shifter to the right of the driver in the door sill?
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
Great question, I'm not sure yet... there really isn't a lot of room to mount the shifter to the side of the door sill, whereas the central shifter, although not as authentic, is more natural in terms of driving position, particularly here in Australia where all our vehicles are right hand drive with central shifter. Will consider this further as I get to fitting out the interior.

Hi Dan, I’ve subbed to your channel and I’m looking forward to watching your build. I’m a huge fan of the Shelby cars, GT40, Cobra, and Daytona. I was planning on getting a Cobra from FFR but after watching the first few of your videos I’m wondering who made the GT40 kit you’re building?
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
G'day Steve, thanks for the sub! The kit is manufactured by Absolute Pace in Queensland, Australia. Will cover more details about what's included in the kit in my next episode.

interested to see this come together, sorry if i missed but did you purchase the chassis with components or have youv collected everything personally ?
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
G'day Cheese Pizza, all the components came as part of the kit. There are various stages to the kit that can be purchased individually as you progress with the build, but I chose to order them all up front. Hope you enjoy the build series.

Curious to know where one buys a complete kit car like this within Australia? Or did you buy this kit internationally?
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
There are actually a few local Australian kit car manufacturers that produce GT40s an Cobras. This one is from Absolute Pace in Queensland. I'll be providing a more detailed overview of all the parts that are included in my next episode.

Dan, nice video, will watch this complete series, but you need a microphone, record the audio separately, it will improve your videos
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
G'day Igor, thanks for the suggestion! I've got a new wireless lav mic so hopefully that will improve audio going forward, otherwise I probably will revert to some voiceovers! Hope you enjoy the series!

Super Happy I found your channel. Can’t be inexpensive to build one of these beauties Down Under. What power train did you decide to use?? Who is the manufacture? Thanks
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
G'day Dave, nothing is cheap here in Australia with all the import duties and taxes! Going with a coyote and graziano transaxle. The kit is manufactured by Absolute Pace in Queensland, Australia.
@dave58333 жыл бұрын
@@BuiltbyDan thanks for the reply. Can you tell me in US $ what the kit cost? Thanks
@BuiltbyDan3 жыл бұрын
@@dave5833 based on a very simply conversion it would be approx USD70k, but if you purchased all the same parts within the US it would be much cheaper. A lot of the parts in this kit come from the US and are hit with numerous taxes when they land here, so that basic conversion is not a true reflection of the cost of these items in the US, if that makes sense!

Dan could you list who makes this kit in your notes? Thanks
