I am inspired... as a traditional filmmaker one of the most frustrating things is when you have an amazing vision for a story but no cast or crew or budget to even produce a proof of concept video. Your words in the end hit the nail on the head. This really allows unlimited potential to really express a narrative without constraints. With the exponential advancement of technology I won't be surprised if the future of the film industry is people sitting at desks making films like this, except with ultra real 3D assets. Thank you for these tutorials, and one day this niche might be one of the hottest jobs around...

One little remark: When you play anim by task sequence it's very usefull : 1) Teleport to position; 2) Snap to rotation and 3) Play animation. @whanowa5 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough, I had already started producing a video with the same title in 2017 but I never finished it. And the "A Day In The Life..." is nothing I came up with, it's basically a standard phrase in English. Even the Beatles had a song with that title (1967).
@mintedsauce5 жыл бұрын
@@whanowa ha yeah that's one of my favorite songs. you try sfm? i'm thinking of making the switch just cause u get more control of the animations.
@whanowa5 жыл бұрын
@@mintedsauce I've thought about SFM but I don't have the time to dive into this software. GTA editor has the balance between quick results and many options. Wanna make your character walk a path? Just use the gamepad. In SFM you'd have to animate all that manually. Mind you it already takes weeks to produce a simple machinima video like "Good Idea, Bad Idea", not to speak of actual story lines in a short movie.

@livingthecreed23433 жыл бұрын
Hello there :) You said at the end that your ambition is to inspire people to create more awesome stuff. Well my good Sir, you most certainly succeded in my case! Just recently i did the "secret" easter egg mission with the crashed UFO and alien egg in GTA online. Since it takes a lot of grinding to get it and it is therefore somewhat rare, I wanted to not only record the event, but also spice it up with some "production value". That was the first time I really familiarized myself with the R* editor. When i realized that it allows you to manipulate camera placement, angles, etc. AFTER recording a scene ... I was like: "This is nothing short of godlike!" :D To my great dissapointment I then found out that the area around Fort Zancudo where the alien egg scene takes place does (for whatever reason) block/disable the camera options of the R* editor. Therefore leaving me with only the options of changing the DOF and some filters/effects. I still managed to make it slightly more cinematic by getting a bit creative with cuts and subtitles though. Anyway, after that experience I really got a taste for it and became more interested in Machinima and the methods to create them. So when i found this tutorial I was very glad. I am impressed with the seamingly infinite possibilities these tools open up for creating videos. Thank you very much for making this! I already have the feeling that the content of this 1 hour long video will keep me busy for weeks and months, experimenting and learning the tools. P.S. You totally deserve your self-/random folks-awarded awards ;D

Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to watch my content. Pro tip: If you want to edit your clips in Fort Zancudo, this mod might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnyUdXl3gZ2gnLM Potentially it might not work with the newest version of GTA V though.

You are so damn underrated. Honestly. SO, my qyestion was, even while usuing all these mods to make poses and talking, etc. , is the recording length always 30 seconds in director mode? is there any way to increase recording length?
@whanowa2 жыл бұрын
You can increase the recording duration by using Simple Trainer and disabling cars and pedestrians. This will get you about double the time. Also a better PC will help. However, unless you're doing long one-takes you don't really need much more than 30 seconds in my opinion. In post production you will make cuts between different camera angles anyway.

Man, despite that GTA V was a little bit shorter than GTA IV, with a less dark tone than its predecesor, focussing more in the action tone, the quemestry between the characters in the story was amazing, and the single player characters still have a lot of potential to extend their stories. It's a real shame that Rockstar only cares about the Online content for last 7 years, and never gave us at least a couple of DLCs for the single player, extending the story of Franklin, Michael or Trevor, or even playing as another character like Lamar, adding more outfits to him. Like a DLC about return characters like Simeon, Martin Madrazo or even Chris Formage in a revenge story against the protagonists, or one about Michael making his own movie along with Franklin and Trevor; adding also more interactions and dialogues between the characters like Michael meeting Lamar, Amanda meeting Denise, Lester meeting Jimmy, etc. But I guess those dreams would come true with the GTA fandom, the talented modders and the Rockstar Editor, and not by Rockstar anymore.

What are your suggestions with frame rate & what do you personally use? Thanks!

You can record, edit and export from GTA in 60 FPS and even edit in a 60 FPS sequence in your editing software and in the end export it with 30 FPS from there. That's how I do it most of the time.

I'm not so sure I will remember all of this, but thank you for making this video! It is very helpful. 😁 There were many things I didn't know about before watching this video.
