I don’t think the issue is the physics engine. GTA 4’s graphical engine has a lot of issues and bugs as it was rockstar’s second game with the new rage engine and therefore it’s not as polished and smooth as in GTA 5. Btw yes GTA 4 is still the best GTA game

Wow. Just realised that Vice City was released in 2002, 16 years after its 1986 setting. In 2024, we're another 22 years past the release of Vice City. I don't know... 1986 felt so retro to me in 2002, but 2002 doesn't feel so long ago to me now.

Vice city came out in 2002 with a setting of 1986. That's a game based 16 years in the past (at the time). GTA 4 came out in 2008 and is also based in 2008.. we are in 2025. There is now more time between now and GTA 4 than 2002 and Vice City.

My team and I were planning using the rage engine to remake gta vc. Our total budget we put to pay modders and other things we would've needed was $2m. The plan was to even implement the machinima style for cutscenes. All this was scheduled to start next year until one member faced a tragic loss in an accident. The whole plan has been scrapped. I'm so happy to see someone else work on it

GTA VC Remake based on GTA IV Engine, It actually makes sense cuz OG GTA VC heavily used assets from GTA 3 even all animations were used in GTA VC The modder who made GTA VC Remake really observed the situation that Rockstar had at that time so he used the GTA IV engine not the GTA V Engine which is a nice touch

the sad thing is, this would probably get taken down if anyone doesnt know, RevTeam started remaking vice city way before as "Vice City 2" where it had the same things. Story missions cutscenes remade in the new engine everything this version has however that version had new character models, a really nice character model for tommy which looked modern and cool car customizations, custom missions, new elements etc. sad to see that this would also receive the same treatment as its not much different from vice city 2, its just more faithful with the character looks and models.

It looks great and I'll be keeping my eye on it. But with all these mods we are almost only shown what they look like during a sunny day. What I want to know with these mods is does the map and its varied locations still have the same feel (lighting, color palate, shading) which differentiated each section of the map in the OG. I've seen some mods for GTA SA where sure the sunny days look great but then the dark, misty forests get the same treatment, so these forests lose the feeling they are supposed to have.

Please change the character models textures to the new ones There is a lot of them in the public forums to be changed and replaced, like old models, remade as the new ones, better resolution and etc. This would drastically change the spirit and atmosphere of the game

Generally speaking, more polies and meshsmoothing of objects would make this far beyond awesome. They old rectangular shapes of objects did work for the old engine and with a blue effect it wasn't too annoying. But in this new engibe all the jagged edges are showing. Sth like editing the table in the first cutscene would go a long way in bringing the game to the modern age.

I think in some of the missions where there are no cutscenes (in the original game) just simple repetitive animations , it would be great to put they're own spin in some of the missions or maybe add some cutscenes that were cut in the original game or add back some cutscenes from the beta that they'll make more sense to be in the final game 🙏❤

I'd suggest adding more police departments spawning in their respective areas since GTA IV gives that opportunity, for example Vice Beach PD, VCPD with blue uniforms, airport police as well as the ones we're used to - Metro PD. Also, it would be nice to have some leisure activities like playing golf and stuff so that there'd be something to do after completing the storyline. Overall, it's a great mod, I'm so looking forward to the release!

My suggestions 1. Make streets and sidewalks lively like in gta 4, a little messy and really messy in some areas 2. Make the areas beyond the sidewalk whisch look really empty, into concrete/grass parks or parking lots, 3. Add more details from the games era that its set in 4. GTA VCS empire building if possible, i really loved that bit of VCS 5. Tree variety

It’s funny. modders can do better job then devs Rockstar hired. Then again didn’t they use mobile versions? And used older version of UE4, when they should have used UE 5.3+ or newer. I don’t think Grove street games has HAD a single success story, which is proof of how lazy or unskilled their team is. Modders are doing better job. Personally I think GTA Vice City ReViced is a better option because it stays as failful to the og as possible, while adding cut content and some modern improvements. This mod however still has a lot of promise and hopefully it plays well. Something I'd like to see is the Neon Lights popping more, they seemed to be dulled in the Rage Engine vs the OG.
