I lived in the Pocono mountains for 27 years I owned one 4wd for two years and after that always had front wheel drive cars and never had an issue during my 100 mile a day commute.. Good tires and good driving always got me through. A 2025 Trax is definitely on my list of cars to buy.

The Trax have the same exact torque value of a Ford 3.0L Vulcan V6 from the mid/late 90s. Not a sports car, but moves better than one would think. After 4,000 miles ours loosed up, break-in I suppose, started feeling more gutsy after that. The little half-six moves as an entry level 6 cylinder. Not bad really, better than some non turbo 4 bangers.

My 2025 Chevrolet Trax is awesome and fun! Sunroof, heated seats and steering wheel. Hello winter! Gas mileage is nice, and there is plenty of interior and cargo space. I think future Chevrolet Trax owners will love this car and appreciate the different trim levels and just have fun with it. Thanks for the review.

I bought a white 1RS in May, Believe it or not, my last car is a BMW 430i lol. I got 2 kids now so I wanted a small SUV for city use and Trax gave me european hatchback vibes. Being a car guy, I put ceramic coating on the Trax and did early oil changes to get rid of factory debris. Absolutely love this car inside out, I still turn around to look at it when I walk away and knowing I saved thousands over buying anything else new.

I would’ve seriously considered this car if it came in AWD. I know that’s kind of the point of this video but I live in an area that gets pretty icy and snowy in the winter time and I have a job that I’m required to come in no matter how the weather is outside. I don’t have a choice of just staying home…and I’ve had vehicles in the past that did not have 4x4 or AWD and I got stuck several times. I think this is a good little car, but until it comes out with AWD it just isn’t gonna sell as well as it could. I looked at the Trax, Trailblazer, RAV4, Outback, and Crosstrek…ended up purchasing the Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness and I’m pretty happy with my choice.

I bought my 2RS August of 23 and have 25k miles. I love it! We had a mild winter in suburban NY so it did fine last winter. For the price, the value is amazing. The Turbo 3 cyl wasn't a problem for me, since my other car is a 1.5 Ecoboost Escape. Just keep up with oil changes and it should do fine. Love the wireless Android Auto, that's a huge advantage over my other car, it just connect seamlessly. Chevy knocked it out of the park with the Trax!

GM and Chevy lost my trust during the 1970's... after that we had Subaru's all thru the 80's, 90's and into the early 2000's ... Then Subaru got more expensive had some problems and I waited for Chevy to improve quality and come out with decent SUV's or crossovers. It happened for real when they brought out the newer Equinox LT 2.0 in 2018. Best car we ever owned and now with over 90k miles has been flawless so far. Brakes,Tires and regular 5k oil change is all so far. Wife loves it. Love the smooth power from the 2.0 turbo and now I'm thinking about a new Trax for my older age. Had two of the early model Trax, which we had essentially no problems with for over 100k miles each. Chevy has a few great cars and they finally earned my trust. Saving up now for my final retired old man car. Trax is definitely good enough, and I've driven them... nice enough and I'll baby it. :+)

My favorite feature of the 2025 Trax is the excellent true 6 speed automatic transmission. Many other economy cars are using the CVT trans.

My biggest concern will always be that engine. Which comes off as something that would be a far better fit for something the size of a Miata lol. The Trax AND the Envista need a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder option without the turbo. That would make it perfect,
@GTGarageTalk2 ай бұрын
Only time will tell how these hold up. They are far from the only 3-cyl on the market.

@@GTGarageTalk Definitely not the only by it's by far the heaviest for a 1.2 Liter. The handful of other SUV's that have a 3-cyl are 1.5's.

I also came from a 12 Cruze Turbo. Also think my 24 Trax 1RS has more power! As far as winter goes, here in PA, never bought snow tires, front whl drive is fine. Now Im retired, wife works at home so will just stay home if we ever get real snow again. Plus they plow/salt fast and well here anyway. Love my Trax!

The Activ has 225 width tires on 18's whereas the 2RS has 245's on 19's. That makes the tires for the 2RS about $100 more each when it comes time to replace them. I'm not sure why there is a width discrepancy but it's an interesting fact.

I don't what you test Cory there will always be people that will not agree with you at all. I think most of those people don't realize how much knowledge you have on each vehicle you test. They just want to be a "Mr. Know It All."

I'm contemplating buying a 2025 Trax, yet I heard something about a wet timing belt that will need to be replaced around 60-80k miles. Do you know how much that would cost? and is that a major problem? thx
@Darrel1200R20 күн бұрын
I can't speak to the Chevy wet timing belt. However, I have 410k on an f150 with a wet timing belt. So it can be OK.

Eh.. its a fine vehicle and i genuinely do appreciate that they are still trying to make cheap vehicles but.. my god the engine is just sad. If they put the 1.3 that the trailblazer gets or a na 2.0 engine in it, it would be absolutely perfect

I live in an area that an get 128 inches of snow an average year. So, imagine a bad year. Two wheel drive in the front with all season tires are just fine in very snowy areas, if you have only rear wheel drive in very snowy areas, get studded snow tires. Depending on how heavy the rear end is, pickups are all light in the rear end and not good in the snow without added weight in the bed. All wheel drive is a waste of money, and you need to buy 4 tires at a time - a big waste of money. People today are kind of chicken shit about snow and for no reason. In very snowy areas they plow and salt the roads pretty much all the time, in less snowy areas like parts of Southern Ohio ICE is the problem and you wait for it to melt, if you have a brain, since it lasts maybe a day or 2, lousy winter support there and southern PA as well. They don't gear up for occasional problems in warmer climes, so there you just sit it out, regardless of your vehicles. I mean they freak of 6 inches in DC. So, 2 wheel front drive is MORE than enough, just get all season tires and you are permanently fine, and for less money. If it is somehow really apocalyptic you can get chains but you would likely not need them for more than a day or two in a blizzard. Your biggest problem in a small vehicle is clearance and weight, do you have the clearance and sufficient weight to drive over deeper snow so the vehicle does not get hung up on the snow, 95% of the time it's not a problem just avoid deep snow in unplowed parking lots and such. By the way, if you are stuck, traction control is your problem, turn it OFF, or if you are losing traction on a hill, or the fool thing decides to reduce power etc, turn the traction control OFF. Traction control on a slippery read while driving is one thing but on trying to drive UP a slippery hill where people are stuck, it is crap. Best wishes, screw all wheel drive.
