well you completely misunderstood the whole song. its about being open minded and seeing that we are all eguals. also "proud like a god" is arrogance that you think you are better than the rest. and "beating the machine that works in your head" to beat your hate for other "races"(black/asian etc.) and get know the people and not just hating them for no reason.
