It's been more than two years since I found your channel and loved it, the reason was that it's neat and lovely to watch the fine work of yours, now it's fresh, you smile more, looks more natural, but please keep your fine ,neat, focused touch, find this balance, keep moving forward :) Love from Egypt

One thing I can know for sure. If the Talbotts are making content, it's going to be super high quality. Even though I'll probably never make any of the recipes (aside from the buttermilk pancakes from like 5 years ago!), I'm obsessed with watching the beautiful food you make. Always top notch. Great job and I can't wait to see what's in store next.

Mr. Talbott, I indeed like the new format of the presentation of your channel, but as a creature of habit I'm resistant to change, and at this time it is perfectly founded. Your show now does indeed have an artistic way of filming with the focus shifts, close ups, non-stationary camera. On the other hand the other old format of your channel I feel had more information and was a little bit more aimed on the actual cooking than on filming, which made it much more authentic and focused on the actual issue of cooking and techniques. I know it is just a tartine, but your old format of narration, which at many times was almost out of sync with the actual video at times was so much more aluring and satisfying, because it was so authentic!

Hi! Upgrading is always a plus, but I have to say I prefer the old set up and atmosphere. The new style of video is quite a bit too experimental, the blurring and bobbing really distract from the instructional quality of the cooking. They make following the scenes hard and unrelaxed. Also the frame is cut too generously making the vocal point, food, sort of harder to see. I really appreciated the calmness and sense of clarity in the previous style. Anyways, I wanted to give feedback because otherwise I really appreciate your work Byron! Thanks for great recipes, and best wishes.

The Recipe itself looks great! And overall it's a nice style of video idea... BUT The cinematography needs work. It has very choppy cuts and often blurry. This was the same situation in the last video of this type (Blackberry cobbler). It just needs to be cleaner. This is my first comment on your channel after years of watching because I think it's that serious and want you to continue doing well with it.
@ByronTalbott7 жыл бұрын

Congratulations to your new filming kitchen, but to be honest, I like your past cooking video more, they are much simple and easy to follow but this video is more like real life sharing, less “step by step” for the viewers to follow, like you are just casually sharing the recipe with us (or maybe this is your intention...?!😂)
@AquaMelodyZz7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you! I also prefer the style of the past videos since they just focus on the food and the recipe. The current style feels a bit too casual. The camera is shaking a lot as it follows Bryan and some transitions are very blurry.
@thefriendlysenpai7 жыл бұрын
I'm not gonna lie, this new format is really disorienting and makes it a lot more difficult to actually *learn* how to make these dishes. I get that some people just watch for the sake of being entertained, but this feels so much less informational than your old format; now it just feels like you're focused on aesthetics.

I had to stop the vid at min 2,3 to like it and comment: I'm new to your channel and I've been checking many of your previous recipes this week, those are wonderful! but have to tell you that this new 'era' is already looking fantastic. I watch lots of documentaries and tv shows about food, I read articles (scientific & not) because I'm obsessed with cooking/baking and the history of food, so fascinating. But what I want to say is that this really looks wonderful, thank you so much for your work and for being such an inspiration. Really great. ByronTalbott the new format is beautiful for the most part! Very open and refreshing. I don't think there's anything wrong with the subject coming in and out of focus some, but the camera operator did take a really long time to find their final point in a couple spots - I think there was a shot or two where the subject never came into focus at all.

Not a fan of this style, too many other cooking videos are filmed with that extreme closeup and floating camera work, it's irritating when trying to watch how to put dishes together. This is just my personal opinion but also I think you need to be more mindful about when you're speaking. A lot of times in this video you were barely audible or mumbled a bit. It's a great recipe but just not a fan on this style. Would love to have a SHACK of my own to work with.
@Albireo207 жыл бұрын
have to agree, I really love your videos Byron, but I loved them because of the clear images you did, that showed the steps and the amazing voice over work that explained the steps while the video was running. this video looked pretty chaotic to me, what Kitchen Confidence said I also think on top it also was a bit irritating that in some shots everything was completely out of focus even the food, which just looked like someone who doesn't know how to operate a camera filmed it :/ I think the idea itself with the shack etc. is not bad, but I think you only should do it in little amounts and mostly keep the way you did your videos before, because these are awesome.
