For people watching this trying to learn rules, theres a fair few mistakes made - Many/most non-combat events state you have to draw another event once resolved (the dead body definately does) As lots of people have said, monsters with ranged weapons are placed as far away from the heros as possible (upto 1 board section away from the lantern) Training can only be done at towns or cities (not villages) Skills are randomly choosen (roll 2d6, all skills are numbered)

If I recall the rules bow armed foes should be placed at range to shoot the heroes. Made that mistake myself.

Another thing to remember: If the Pit fighter rolls a 1 with his flail, he hits himself instead of the enemy.

Pit Fighter was one if the best (if not the best) character because of his unique advancement; other characters gained abilities and stat increases per level but the Pit Fighter could pay the points and advance whatever (Attack was usually a first choice).

That middle fight was hairy. And it’s funny that the wiz did more work in melee than Lakebreeze. Makes sense that he went up six hits, he’s obviously a beast.

Good game, I've been playing the Pit fighter myself lately too. Better using the spike attack on lesser enemies, as you get plus 2 attacks. Unfortunately the Pit Fighter doesn't get deathblow. He can move into a dead enemies square and use his remaining spike attacks.

You keep missing the “draw another event card immediately” text on some of the events. Dead Body for example.

You should also start to roll on the level 1 monsters table for tougher fights as you will steam roll every fight from the cards. Just dont jump down the rabbit hole of getting the miniatures!! The hobgoblins with hand weapons and Chaos centaurs with bows are expensive!!

Yah we rolled on the charts in the book...that poor book has section of 'thumb wear' where the pages are stained and worn. Good times, especially with Time Warp.

Well he doesnt need to buy those exact Centaurs from GWs Range back in the day. TBH they did not age very well and are far from a beautiful miniature. Better buyin some nice looking mordern centaur miniatures for a lower price. Im workin on modernising my WHQ. Building 3D Tiles and updating all character miniatures and planning to do so with enemy miniatures aswell

Your forgetting key rules about the wizard!! He gets 5 gold for every point he heals, and when you level up roll 2d6. These dice are power levels of spells you learn. So a 4 and a 5 roll would be a level 4 and 5 spell you pick from the lists.Or you can combine them for a nine spell. Or a 7 and a two spell your choice. Your wiz will become awesome, also from now on add +1 to the power dice, except for a 1 roll.

Actually, it's +1 power per battle level (the exact example given is a level 4 wizard adds +4 to the power roll), but 1 stats a 1. Spells you're right that you roll a number of dice equal to your new battle level, and pick spells that are either the level shown on each die, or the total of 2 or more die, but you cant split die (so your example of "7 and a two" couldn't be done with the dice roll in your example)
