Guess obtained the rights through a company that licenses street”art”. They tried to do the right thing and credited Banksy. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to find out Banksy owns that company and is just doing this to keep their contraversial persona at the forefront. I also noticed one of the example showed a trademarked and copy righted Mickey Mouse, so clearly they are picking and choosing what art should be protected.

I had a pair of Guess jeans a long time ago and they were the best looking jeans on my body type. A memory I will always cherish. .. 🥰 I think Guess is totally in the wrong in this case. Shein is also a Co. that steals from artists so I stopped buying from them. If I were Banksy I would just ask ppl to stop buying from them. Interesting topic.

Plot twist: Banksy takes Guess to court. Who is this we see in the defendant stand? That’s right. Banksy is Kanye. He’s now back in fashion and by claiming his artwork back. He sees his sponsorships and partnerships that cancelled him and raised them - he’s now cancelled himself. Mic. Drop. 😂

Are his/her graffiti copyrighted? I mean... I don't even know why they're so famous... I've seen much better and beautiful street art. Weren't some of his/hers artworks sold for a combined total of more than £7m at auction?... Talk about anti-capitalism. 😜💖

Definitely an interesting topic--if someone buys a piece of art, does that mean they can do whatever they want with the image or do they only own the physical copy? I will say, Banksy can't be that anticapitalist, or the owner of the place I used to work wouldn't have their art in his 4M house 🤣
