Since it was a Stream, we live discussed my interpretation of the ending so I thought I'd leave this here for you guys! **SPOILERS** After playing, what I gathered was that in the Lair with the long armed man, he imprisoned and/or killed children (for what reason we do not know YET). The overall ship's business was essentially feeding the guests as much food as they could possibly consume before their life force was then taken by the Geisha, who needed it to stay young and beautiful. This makes sense why she is a Geisha but the people are wearing more modern clothing. She was probably hundreds of years old and at some point, needed a legitimate "looking" way to consume lives. In order to keep the business going, they needed the guests meat to feed back to the new guests to board the ship which kept the cycle repeating. This explains all the shoes and luggage floors below and was what the Chefs were cooking all along. As for Six, I do believe that she is in some way related to the Geisha and somehow made the Geisha feel threatened thus she tossed her down to the lair to rid her. As we saw, she is INCREDIBLY vain and has broken many mirrors once she sees her real appearance. Maybe she felt threatened by Six being more beautiful? More powerful? When we were in the lady's bedroom, we did see a portrait of a girl on her wall and underneath that on the floor, a young boy. Maybe this is the boy in the coming sequel? Maybe they are twins or siblings? There are alot of things left unanswered but in the end, we see six standing outside on what looks like an island and not the ship, in the middle of the ocean. My thoughts were that maybe the idea of different doors going to different places was used like Howl's Moving Castle? We do hear another ship approaching which we can assume she jumped on to get away. Overall, I LOVED this game! It was fantastic and I can't wait to play Little Nightmares 2 for you all!

You're pretty much spot on. Besides Six and the Geisha being related. Quick edit The Geisha smashed all the mirrors and wears a mask because she didn't want to see herself age and lose her beauty due to that aging. She wants to steal Six's beauty for herself.

I wonder why Six does it though. I love games that make these kind of connections and the really well written ones tend to keep that connection despite the main character's actions potentially being different from what the player wants. I still love the game but usually, that disconnect after the gnome incident would be a failure of the writer in my eyes.

29:19 that's one thing that I really love about this game: the leitmotifs. Every character has their own theme. The chefs, the guests, Six herself and the Lady. Interestingly Six's theme and the Lady's theme both consist of three notes one way or another. Really connecting them somehow.

I played this for the first time about a week ago. I remember in a previous video you said it reminded you of Spirited Away. It was during the Guest Area that I had the exact same reaction: that part in particular is effectively Spirited Away: The Video Game and I was totally there for it. I had a genuinely visceral reaction when the kid ate the Squishy. I don't think anything else in a video game has creeped me out as much as that moment. I actually restarted from the last checkpoint because I thought I did something wrong and was so disgusted with myself.

I watched all the Little Nightmares videos. Got to say, Marz has a pretty good instinct. Many things that she said like "she looks like the dolls I have been breaking", "they are eating people", or "maybe later is the restaurant or something" (from the last video), are all precise predictions to the game. By contrast, when I played this game myself, I never have these ideas crossed my mind.

I looked up the production of the first yellow raincoat, and it says that it was produced in 1823 in Glasgow by a chemist named Sir Charles Macintosh, so I'm guessing this story takes place during the Meiji-jidai where Japan's borders to the West had been ordered open on command of the Emperor and his desire to "Westernize or civilize" Japan based on how he viewed the way foreigners conducted themselves. The Geisha probably brought in foreigners to plump up off the coast of Japan to harvest their energy for eternal youth, like you were saying, Marz. This was a good run.

My theory is Six doesn’t like to eat the big peoples food because a lot of it is made from them or other people. There’s a hierarchy of ‘animals’ in this universe but they’re all human shaped, intelligent and different sizes and races, only the guys at the very top, the rich gluttons, know they aren’t eating their relatives or friends. But why she can’t eat vegetables when she has the opportunity, yeah, it kinda falls down there.

geisha was 5. you play as 6. we start out thinking she escaped being fed to the gluttonous lumps and we were led to believe that the lumps were the top predators, but it seems a role reversal happened. they thought they were walking into the slaughter house to do the eating, but they were actually the food being prepared for 6.
