An absolute marvel. Let's take a look at how significant the differences are between the different levels of Begg knives, from Steelcraft production to midtech to full custom. BIG thanks to Alec who sent in his knife for this presentation. Check out the video on his Instagram where Todd presents this knife to him as a gift for his birthday! @knifeaddict13

I own a benchmade 940 a benchmade 300-1. a tops bob an esee izula II a tenacious a lot of kershaws and tons of cheap crap frost cutlery and smith and Wesson from when I first started collecting. I'm proud of my collection. but Alec. holy crap. That's amazing. and honestly. when I was 13 I didn't deserve this. Bullpup92 how? I can show you endless examples of knives, daggers, swords with just as much if not even more detail which is primarily what interests me look here's a few examples samurai-sword-shop.com great detail on the saya. A link to a website where they make beautiful recreations of found swords www.templ.net/english/weapons-antiquity_and_early_middle_age.php And finally this a sword made by my favorite swordsmith Petter Johnsson m.facebook.com/Peter-Johnsson-Swordsmith-491315417599191/ And this is a longsword he made just look at the details to the 2.bp.blogspot.com/-d4eXTlr8_ww/ULT2xNA2BlI/AAAAAAAAA8Y/r_68x3hqHMw/s1600/DSC07880.jpg

Aldito Hernandez Okay 1. Those are swords, not pocket knives. Completely different field of craftsmanship. 2. Swords are much easier to make than smaller pocket knives, due to the small details and moving parts. 3. The Bodega utilises notoriously difficult materials in its composition, making it far more difficult to produce, including Moku-Ti, Damasteel and in come cases; Zirconium. The carbon steel, wood and leather that swords are usually made of is very easy to work with. 4. I'm also familiar with the production of beautiful swords and those aren't even impressive, frankly. It is not even a remotely accurate comparison to compare this knife to swords. Finely-made swords I will admit, but not even slightly as difficult to produce as a Bodega like this one would be.
@fallenstudent1103

You're kidding right? There isn't a flaw on any part of this knife.
@biglytremendous5191
@biglytremendous5191 8 жыл бұрын
+Jim Skelton Well, I agree. The ricasso after the choil is absolutely intentional. But I would like to have an extended choil or have a modified grind angle, to have a full length edge. I'm a sharp (pun intended) transition guy. Seeing this "choil -> 90 degree blunt part -> edge grind" rubs me the wrong way. But that's a personal preference i guess. Aside from this, this knife took my breath. In fact I even waited almost an hour to see the video in its full HD beauty. While looking at it, I think the screws that hold the inlays could have been made of anodized titanium, so they would blend in better with the surrounding timascus. Whats your thought about it? Curious to know :3
@97Genderbender
@97Genderbender 8 жыл бұрын
I agree. Totally killed the knife for me. From the perspective of one who sharpens their own knives, that kind of edge transition is needless and infuriating.
@orangecheez12
@orangecheez12 8 жыл бұрын
As a knife maker , I say this from what I've learned . To get that curved plung line you have the have that little area in front of the edge . If you sharpen that par it adds some funky angles .
@fuzzuck
@fuzzuck 8 жыл бұрын
+Ruben Wittkowski I think the reasoning on that is a safer, more comfortable finger choil; if it had a steeper plunge grind and the edge extended to the choil, any kind of forward pressure would push your finger against the cutting edge. It's not my preference, but there's a point to it.

At leat Ti screws so they could be aonodized (heat or otherwise) to blend in more. While I wouldn't consider that a flaw perse, I think it would keep me from buying it. Jim you are not right by all means when you talking about zt knives and this one and a grail as such.I can make six knives I can take them to a perfect level but none of them going be grail because of the level of finish but usage and practicality,reliability.I would not change my zt 562 to this thing if money did not exist.you get the point?It is you and the others among the money that makes this knife that expensive.again if my life depend on it i would rather choose Zero Tolerance knives than a fashion knife with fancy staff on it that you end up wiping off every second anyhow so it looks cool,awesome.there is no need for those fancy things at all.this is nothing but jewelry in my eyes.and yes zt's and other good brands and unknown makers whose make a true grail in knife business as such not jewelry makers.

the knife is perfect but for the edge, which doesnt fully touchesvthe choil. Something that could be easily fixed if you sent it to theapostleP for the finest edge one could possibly want. Best built knife ever though. Begg is a knife maker not a sharpener anyway. Can't blame him for it.
