Yes, even US free range or grass fed products often aren’t as they seem. The USDA has some very lax regulations on label claims. eg open a 6’*6’ shed door onto a grass strip for chickens a week or so before slaughter qualifies as free range. Saying that, now living back in the UK it’s shocking the amount of ultra processed food on our supermarket shelves. I find myself constantly label reading and putting items back on the shelf. Palm oil in so many products, even more expensive shops like M&S Food and all major brands of chocolate. No wonder it doesn’t taste the same. Don’t get me started on the stupidity of replacing sugar in drinks and cakes with chlorinated sucrose. Keeps me slim because I refuse to eat the stuff.

My grandmother told me that when she was young (she was born 1912) her mother would empty newly bought loose tea onto a tray and pass a magnet over it to draw out the iron filings which it contained, presumably to add weight although it may have also been intended to add colour and maybe even some kind of flavour to the tea. It took decades to reach the levels of food safety we had while part of the EU, now the food industry wants to undo all that, and idiots like her are content to let it happen. Because of course, if you can afford the very best organically produced food, you won't have to worry. It's only cheap food for the plebs that is at risk of adulteration. By the way, jam has to have some sugar in order for it to set. When I used to make my own jam the recipe called for equal amounts of fruit and sugar by weight.

DEFRA, like EU, has done more for food standards to not only ruin health, but also waste... then the elephant in the room is awareness. Who are the benefactors? He mentions UPF in all his research, he remains pertinent to that; commendable work. Holding DEFRA to account to allow say artificial sweeteners into food is always side-stepped, yet it's being a primary reason for bad health, and I doubt major shareholders of that industry would like to comment especially on the 'sugar tax'. It raises ire when the subject of obesity doesn't get to join the dots with food standards and the classification of 'food', with the ability to afford real food, and the education to know the difference between food and 'food'. How does anyone cook with aspartame? Would they eat it if they knew? How do people read miniscule writing on ingredients? Obfuscation. I gave up expecting her Sunday morning bbc-ing dumbed down exchange of 'media-ready' questions to be any use except hearing her squirm i n front of the Lettuce. She embodies 'Don't Look Up'. She’s putting a view that many people believe, giving him space and an opportunity refute it and explain his position. It’s kind of her job. It doesn’t mean she believes the contra argument is correct. It’s called a discussion. It serves a useful purpose, it’s certainly better than having all those who feel their instincts are not voiced to switch over to gb news where discussion leans one way.

She does agree with it though.

Why did she send THE BORIS her notes prior to the cancellation of the interview or is that nonsense?

You obviously haven't watched the difference between her interviews with Labour in power and when Conservatives where in power

What matters is not her personal views but her ability to put questions that are relevant.

I’m not a huge follower of Laura kuensberg, I’m responding to this video. If you’re saying she does not ask relevant questions it’s probably better to look at a clip that illustrates that point.
