To put crushing blow into perspective. Assuming the high investment gear from the maxroll smiter guide. 20 seconds of smiting is 108,732.75 (217465.5 because of 50% Physical resist) damage but also 80 Crushing blow procs. Using Uber Diablo's 642,700 hp as a base. So without crushing blow it'd take you just under 2 minutes of constant smiting to put him down. 80 Crushing blows, however, reduce his health to 3,679, this isn't counting the actual smite damage but I think it's safe to say he'd die within those 20 seconds.

When you have a Ignore Target's defense mod on your weapon (not your hireling), it reduces the Target's defense to 0, meaning the formular still stand with only your AR/AR = 1, thus doesn't change the value at all. But since chance to hit is capped at 95%, you can still miss on your physical attack.

As a melee enjoyer i do have my gripes with Static Field. It really feels like Crushing Blow is the one thing melee have going for themselves and the fact Static Field is readily available for 1 single point of investment cheapens that heavily and makes it feel like Sorcs do have everything for themselves. Also feels like Deadly Strike and IAS calculations are needlessly complicated as they often both have little caveats that make them worthless one way or the other. Example : IAS on gear is useless on a Fury Druid as for whatever reason only your weapon's IAS count. Deadly strike mostly useless on a lot of build or have very limited use due to inherent crit chances that they have or some abilities arbitrarily not being allowed to Crit (such as Assassin kicks). IAS being a whole can of worm in general for most classes using multi-frame attacks, which is almost every single melee in the game (kicksin, fury druid, zealer, Jabzone etc.) It also makes some pieces of gear feel worthless, for example outside Bowazon i've yet to make a build that can fully use Highlord's Wrath due to the problem with either IAS or Deadly Strike i mentioned. Smoothing some of that in an eventual balance update would do a lot for build diversity in the game imo as its the primary reason nobody wants to play melee chars. They're very complicated to gear compared to just following 1 FCR breakpoint on a Cold Sorc or Hammerdin and them just point and clicking with Blizzard or Holding Shift+Right Click with Hammer for maximum effectiveness.

Applying slow to Baal is really fun, use Kelpie Snare or General's Tan Do Li Ga on Baal and he basically can't do anything. All his animations bug out and he pretty much can't hurt you.

The enemy's defense will be negative, it will still work in the formula, and you can still have lower than 95% hit chance. It's not like dividing by zero, why would a rift open

I think ignore target defence changes the chance to hit calculations like this: Chance to hit = 200% * {AR / (AR + 0)} * {Alvl / (Alvl + Dlvl)} It ignores the targets defence which means the AR part of the calculation becomes the maximum value of 1. I could be wrong though 🤔

every off-hand weapon's attack options are only affects using off-hand weapon. Blade fury is a physical based spell. so it is affected only main weapon option.

MrllamaSC, there's no videos explaining block chance and how it works. My shield says "40% block chance" but in my character sheet it says I only have an 8 % chance to block with holy shield active. What is happening there?

It seemed to me that when 8 player mode is on, my crushing blow does 1/4 of the original hp. Example p1 dif: monster hp 100. Crushing blow deals 25 dmg. Exemple p8 dif: monster hp 400. Crushing blow deals 25 dmg. If that makes sense?? Game calculates CB damage based on the original value not the upgraded one. Thats what it feels like, i might be wrong.

Like does my attack do its damage first and then the crushing blow is applied or crushing blow is calculated first and then damage? Also, will crushing blow work if an elemental attack deals some physical damage as well? Bowazon is very easy to add physical to elemental attack or visa versa. I made a build using strafe that dealt almost entirely cold damage. Does this kind of thing still work?

Crushing Blow is calculated before any other damage is applied. You will still get weapon damage. You don’t get leach from damage that is not apart of your weapon damage calculations.

@@hindel6141 I believe that open wounds will "reset" each time it's applied - you will apply it, then your merc will apply, but the monster will only bleed at the rate from the last application. So, if your OW is slightly more damaging than your mercs, your merc applying OW will be less damaging. I may be mistaken there, it's been a while since I've actually read how is applied, but I believe that's the case. I also don't know if mercs have an open wounds nerf, or if it scales the same as players characters.

Something I can't seem to find answered anywhere: When you have an item that says +x to x damage, I get that if it's on a weapon, that's localized to attacks with that weapon - but if it's on, say, a charm, does it add that damage to all attacks AND spells? Or would it only be added to attacks?

Kinda sorta almost. It's 19%. You have an 81% (0.9*0.9) chance of both not triggering deadly strike AND critical strike. 100%-81%=19% chance of triggering at least one of those.

Open wounds is dot specifically used for uber mephisto to counter his heal for 8 secounds on each proc.. Thats it dont over think it. Main use is to counter heal on bosses cos bosses are imune to "prevent monster healing" but not immune to OW go figure. Duress on merc for meph kills and Kleipe weapon. Guillaume's face for DS and more CB :)

Keep in mind that def is offset by walk/run/standing/attacking to varying degrees depending on which state you are in. In PVP its further obscured by character levels, may be the same for PVM but I believe the stat readout screen is much more accurate. And computations are done in a constant linear fashion based on how it was programmed. So to make something up, if you have a 50% chance to be hit on an assassin with 50% dual claw block, that does not mean 100% to not be hit, it means two seperate instances of 50% to be hit.

So the way I usually kill Dclone with a sorc is with a PMH javalin that I toss until I see the hp stop regenning. From my experience the PMH seems to last indefinitely until I switch weapons.

Prevent Monster Heal stops unit damage regeneration for 120,000 frames (80 minutes) when applied. [1] It can only be applied by a player: it does not apply when equipped by a mercenary or Iron Golem. It is applied by any successful melee or ranged attack with the exception of Blade Sentinel and Blade Shield. It is only applied if life value changes, either due to damage taken or regenerated. What about freezes target? I don't understand why there is a number... like "+4 freezes target" like on nord's tenderizer. What about prevent monster heal vs open wounds? What's the difference? Does prevent monster heal last forever or does it wear off if I go back to town? You didn't touch on - monster defense, flat amount vs percent. Does the flat stack up while the percent is just a percent cut? I imagine that's how it works but I really don't know. If the flat does stack, can the enemy's def become zero? How long does it stack for? Until I disengage/go back to down?

Why deadly strike does not apply to impale? It makes no sense :) It is melee attack like any other. I can understand that assassin kicks are boots attack, smite is a shield attack and with sacrifice you want to avoid killing yourself but impale? Is it because of high damage bonus of that skill? It would make no sense either because that skill is so slow it would actually need a boost instead of nerf.

When an attack procs crushing blow, do you also deal the standard weapon damage? Lets say my normal attacks hit for 10 damage. I hit a standard monster with 100HP remaining and I proc crushing blow. Do i "only" deal 25 dmg (crushing blow) or do I deal 35? I assume crushing blows cannot crit(?), but if the above is true, would it still be possible to hit a crushing blow AND a critical at the same time? Would I then deal 25 (crush) + 10x2(regular x deadly?) If the two CANNOT occur at the same time, which one is prioritized / gets "rolled for" first?

First always crushing blow tiggers BEFORE any weapon damage,so in this case (if "normal" monster 1 player mode) current 100hp will lose 25hp physical dmg,75 left over will take 10 weapon dmg bringing HP to 65. HOWEVER crushing blow "dmg"is affacted by positive physical resist,(so a monster with with 33% dmg resist like hell act 1 skeleton) will lose 25hp reduced by 33% resist,10 weapon dmg will be also lowered by 33%.(All hell difficulty common "zombies" have 50% phys dmg resist.) Physical immune monsters such as ALL hell "flying ghost"monsters are immune to crushing blow and obv.physical dmg.Unless resistance is broken below 100%. Minimum resist of any kind is minus 100%,however CB is not affected "dmg"wise by negatives,so if negative count as 0% resist,so -100%phys resist would take same 25 CB dmg, while 10 phys dmg weapon would deal 20dmg to -100% resist.CB works just like Static field with lighting resistance.Both CB and DS,OW can reach 100%(always triggers.)any more is wasted. Some necro curses can lower phys resist or break immunes at (20% effectiveness check video about immunes). CB"damage" does NOT benefit from crit or deadly strike double dmg 100% sure.I don't know if a single attack can be both CB and DS,but it is likely to be a case,many players use both in their builds at once.DS and crit strike doubles physical dmg only before any conversion skills(such as frenzy),does NOT double "normal"added elemental and such.Skills such frenzy which CONVERTS phys to magic dmg will work as normal(double dmg).Certain stuff as mentioned in this video does not work with DS,but does with CB or vice versa. An attack can't be both crit and deadly strike,they roll seperatly.eg 50% crit chance from weapon mastery and 50% deadly strike will be: 50% crit or not,if yes crit,if no another 50% roll crit or no,so in this case there is 75% of dealing double physical dmg before ANY conversion skills used to change dmg type.As said in the video skills like Vengeance which deals some phys+added all kinds of added elemental dmg,ONLY the physical will be doubled by crit or deadly strike.
