Summary: - Gil emphasizes the importance of concentration as a complementary practice to mindfulness in meditation, likening it to putting down baggage to move freely in life without the weight of past and future concerns. - Gil introduces a guided meditation to practice mindfulness with concentration, suggesting a posture that helps shed the metaphorical luggage we carry, focusing on intentional, immersive breathing exercises. - The meditation instructions include a three-breath journey to become present and immersed in the experience of breathing, gradually extending to a five-breath journey to enhance mindfulness and concentration. - Gil discusses the simplicity of mindfulness and the potential complexity added by various meditation instructions, advocating for a simple, present awareness of breathing as a stabilizing home base, allowing for a natural flow between mindfulness of different experiences (breathing, body sensations, emotions, thoughts) and returning to the breath. - The idea that mindfulness and concentration work together, allowing for a fresher, deeper engagement with meditation and life experiences by letting go of biases and baggage, aiming for a continuous, immersed presence in the moment. Thank you Gil. 🙏
