Awesome! Very nice build, and it flies beautifully too! I was surprised to see how durable it is. Very nice model, that has been built very well, and the fact that you can fly it for about 15 minutes, on the 500 mah 1S battery is super awesome. Happy flying! Thank you for posting these videos! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨✈️

hi george. this uses the motor gearbox prop and brick from a parkzone ultra micro p-51 mustang or j-3 cub. if you look in the video description there is a link to the build log on rc groups. have fun building with the girls! =D

yes ,i used a regular sized iron. the tail surfaces warped like potato chips but you give a little twist as heat is applied and they straighten out.

Did you know that "Glad" kitchen film works great for indoor models? - no need for glue or dope, mild heat will keep it taut - cheap as chips and can take a misting of paint for decoration. Solve that "last hop before stopping phenom" by taking power off really smoothly but keeping at least 20% on till the plane is at your feet! Nice plane and thanks for sharing!

Wow great job Monocoting the plane!. Usually turns out looking like *hit with all the spars. Great Job! A lot of time went into that little plane.

After building 2 epo foam models, I have to say that balsa wood (if patient enough) or even Carbon fiber are the better material... I had a Fokker dr1 out of foam and it is (was) very fragile on the top wing... Now it is more or so an albatross... wonderful flying sir...

Thank You. this has been a very tough air frame.
@kevinbrooks6265

any plane that size ,wood or foam will be tough because there is very little inertia due to very light weight.

Which makes big planes too susceptible to damage. Answer is to have a smaller plane and way cheaper too.

it is all parkzone ultra micro.the esc "brick" is from the um j-3 cub and the motor gearbox and prop is from the parkzone um p-51. the big 500mah battery is the best so far for performance and ballance.flight times exced 15 min! :) good luck with your build topflite parklite is a much better covering to use than monocote.

newbe here, awesome job! just finished a p40 warhak build and it complete sucked...it was my first one and i used the guts from a champ begginer airplane, barely took off if any at all....in any case...thanks for the video..made me want to keep trying.

That was a nice flight ! I much prefer LOS because I am not an FPV flyer . Watching landscape going by on a screen bores me.Yes, at one time all I knew was Balsa and it was pretty sturdy.

+CrossThread Aero Industries hi, thanks. it's funny that after over 3 years of flying this model is still flying with no damage. it is always fun when somebody @ the local field asks "who makes that one?" I have really pulled some legs with odd answers like "Kyosho made them a few years back" or "its one of a new line from Testors. yea, there getting back into making flying models". =D

hi, you would be suprised how easy it is to cover and use parklite covering. this model is covered with monokote and it is easy to work with but the parklite is great. the biggest wrinkles will go away with heat. i do have the cessna 170 kit and will be building it @ some point. Thanks for your comment. =D

I have to admit that I was a bit surprised the first time I hard landed a Guillows rc conversion. They are not as fragile as I suspected. May I ask what you are using to cover? I've been using the tissue but I like what you're doing.
@jagdpanther9
@jagdpanther9 6 жыл бұрын
hi, on this model i used scraps of plain old monokote iron on covering but on almost all of my other models i use Hangar9 parklite. i like to use the covering to add wash out to the wings if needed just by heating one side more than the other.it really lets me tune the wings just where i want them more or less trimming the model.
@Pointtostones
@Pointtostones 6 жыл бұрын
jagdpanther9 hey, thank you for replying. I'll have to try this and go this route. The balsa is tough but the tissue rips too easy. I have fun building these and even more satisfied, watching them fly. Your builds are amazing.

What size motor esc and lipo pls?
@jagdpanther9
@jagdpanther9 9 жыл бұрын
Yasin Ganioglu this model uses the parkzone ultra micro parts.the esc and servos or "brick" is from the um j-3 cub and the motor gearbox and prop is from the parkzone um p-51. the big 500mah battery is the best so far for performance and balance flight times exced 15 min. you can also use the 150mah battery that comes with the p-51,j-3 cub, and many other ultra micros but you may need a little nose weight.

It's not a Cub even if the model is called that. It's a Piper Pacer. The Pacer has two seats side to side and the cub has two seats tandem. You can tell it's a Pacer by the wide fuselage.

AHH yeah foam is the bomb,i have crashed my home built foamies into the ground at 30 mph and no damage,NO balsa could ever do that.But balsa are cool, i"ll give them that.
@jagdpanther9

yes you are right and i agree foam is tougher than balsa but these builds are surprisingly solid. this little cub has cartwheeled in the grass many times since this video was made and is still flying @ this time.
