Guilt is very common among people who are bereaved after suicide. Not everybody has it, but many do.
Of course we all wrong one another or fall short at times, and so we all have things to feel guilty about, for we are all merely human, but I am speaking here of different kind of guilt. It is different because it is present *no matter what*. That is, it is often unreasonable, unfair, and yet very persistent. "I should have seen this coming?" "There must be something I did wrong." One of our counsellors will talk about the deep psychological nature of this guilt in another video. Today Chris tells us about her experience of guilt as a mother.
