Can I just say how awesome it is that Strive is nearly 3 years old and Arcsys isn’t slowing down one bit with supporting the game? Normally a fighting game either stops or releases a new version around this time, but Strive just keeps on trucking with new characters and features. It’s becoming one of my favorite fighting games ever, and I can’t wait for the 3v3 mode.

I wouldn't say that the strive designs were really less complex than their previous ones, just more grounded in reality (sol, i-no, axl etc), some being mostly unchanged from their older design (baiken, Johnny, jack-o). @@TerraKnyte_64 If it’s as good as Jack A Dandy’s sax solo and doesn’t slow to a crawl with some braindead lyrics we’ll be golden, but I absolutely can’t stand the slower breakdowns of so many other Strive songs just for how long they are. Mirror of the World has a fun intro, but it last roughly a minute in a game with rounds on a 60-90 second timer. Then that final bit where it sounds like Kermit is singing both sounds unpleasant and interrupts the rest of the flow for what feels like another eternity. Symphony’s breakdown is just a retro music reference that again kills the momentum the rest of the song delivers, and The Circle was so incredibly cut in the initial Bedman? trailers that it ruined the final full version of the song for me. It’s not that Strive has bad music, but it’s far more experimental and self indulgent than Daisuke Ishiwatari’s older works so while you get higher highs you get way lower lows and often both in the same song. His older works are just more consistent so if I like a part of an Xrd or XX track I find myself safely enjoying the whole song with little interruption or desire to fast forward.
