all the grab combos DO require some excitement bar. notice with no excitement they bounce away. once you are ticks in they start to bounce towards you. so yea you dont NEED full bar but you need just a splash.

It is so great to have Raven finally here. Not only does he help resolve the plot, but his gameplay is really great. He seemed like a hard character to work with, but they did an excellent job as always. He seems abnormally strong, though.

none of them really require the excitement bar to be full if you're at Level 3 all of them will work. they just get more damage the higher the bar is on stuff like his supers. the ones where the command grab bounces off the ground into 5HS is one of them.

There's also one thing of note. At level 6, IIRC. You can do command grab and continue directly into an air string. At level 3, I don't think that is possible. In the end, going straight into an air string may cause less damage, but I figured it best be known, at the very least.

First, it's quite hard to be sitting on a full bar so most of the combos will be useless, also the excitement bar at level 3 doesn't bounce that much so most likely you will be doing like 5K,5HS, and depending on the character weight you need to modify these combos (I play a lot versus potemkin so... I know..) or will not work at all, at level 6 bounce like in the videos. When you practice use the Stun/Stagger recovery : quickest possible, like 2 combos here are not combos (at least against potemkin I was checking them with him) To the video maker, thanks man, really good examples, mostly for the setups for the Scharf Kugel

The_Knosferatu Raven is just some dude who happens to be immortal. He was born in Germany during the Holy Roman Empire. As a result of his immortality, he's become a masochist, as evidenced by his Excitement meter, his Instant Kill rendering him to a pile of ashes, and the multiple spikes he has shoved through his body. Story wise he is the second-in-command of That Man, and does whatever he can to fulfill his wishes. Strength wise he's enough to give Sol enough worry to not fight unless there is nothing around to stop him from cutting lose.

LN You kind of do have to learn how to instant air dash with him, or else swooping will be too slow and give the opponent more time to punish. You have to know how to vortex by knowing what moves cause knockdown and give you enough time to set up a Scharf Kugel, and figure out a way to get to the objective of said knockdown. And complex combos? Well that's kind of subjective, so I can't speak to what *you* think a complex combo is. Pretty much every character in Guilty Gear has something about them that's broken. And in a strange way, that makes it really balanced. No character really has a match-up against a character that's better than a 55/45 split, and any character can beat any other character of you're good enough. Raven is no easy button, okizeme setups are just his specialty. Like projectile spacing is Dizzy's specialty and rekka mixups are Slayer's specialty.

"Okizeme setups are just his specialty" Along with several other characters in the game. He just has a MUCH easier time pulling it off. *Sigh* Let me put this to you in another way. Raven's job is super, duper easy. Whether you want to do deny it or not, I do not care. I picked up the character in a day and was REPULSED. This coming from a guy who took his days to learn Bedman. Pick up Bedman and then talk back. Oh and also, Dizzy's been simplified too. Hate to break it to ya.

For one thing, they're reworking his Excitement mechanic so that he a can actually make better use of it by making it go up when he lands a special move. And I simply said he has to learn instant air dash too, didn't say other characters didn't have to. But you seemed to claim that Raven players don't have to instant air dash, which is incorrect. A poll saying he's braindead is irrelevant, the internet is full of salt and idiocy. And you being "REPULSED" is also irrelevant, because you're very obviously and extremely biased.

And yet they made such a shitty design. Honestly, it's just annoying that such a straightforward piece of shit exists to do what you can do with other character but work a LOT harder for and he has no real drawback from any of them. He's everything someone like Dizzy is, but a lot easier and a lot more accessible and almost everything he has is pretty viable. Yeah, you guess wrong you're fucked but that applies to every character. With him it's just a lot easier. That in my honest opinion is insulting, especially since I had 7 characters I wanted to choose from when Xrd first came out. Guess how man I have that came back now? 1. Dizzy. And how long did THAT take. Baiken isn't even one of my characters but one of the reason I'm guessing she's put in is she's actually one of the easier GG characters to use.

baiken was recently announced (not sure if only for the upcomimg rev2) but it would have been purely idiotic to include baiken from a story perspective. Robo-ky was in a major part in the story so that is legitimately a bit weird

WhiteTrashMoonshine I agree with that. What the living HELL? Robo-ky was a HUGE deal in the story compared to the other non-playable past characters. Sure, Zappa was there too, but Robo-ky would have made nothing but complete and utter sense.
