This is what i was expecting from season 1. You can have a crazy story, go nuts with time travel and everything but can we also have more of this. It doesn't all have to be explosions, drama and people getting killed left and right like in every other tv show out there. It can be story and character driven just like TNG was. Please and thank you.
@dan_hitchman0072 жыл бұрын
You will get few character driven scenes with a showrunner like Kurtzman. He's a hack like Braga was in the 90's with Trek or anything else he touches.
@billvolk42362 жыл бұрын
It's so serialized now, the plot advances at a crawl. A whole season covers only as much story as one old two-parter from TNG. In theory they have time for so many more character moments like this one, but they don't use that time wisely. Instead they stuff it full of filler and drawn-out mystery box bullshit.

Cant you recognise Lame people "Going through the Motions", from the successful, genuine article ? This entire production is by people so desperately afraid of their own ideology, they will support Child Torture just to avoid its rabid, vindictive, passive aggressive nature, solely in order to keep on making money. And never connect (or purposely ignore) the two or realise just saying NO, in the first place, would have insured the positions they are currently desperate to retain, in such a volatile Market, THEY CREATED where you can be rendered unemployable by a angry and frustrated Mob of Morons, who want to lash out at everyone else, for their own intellectual impotence.

@@billvolk4236 Yes true. I will say I do miss the old stye TNG where each episode was a stand alone story or maybe a two part etc. But now every show has to have a story that runs through the entire series it's annoying. That's one thing i really loved about TNG was because the episodes were stand alone it felt each week they were going somewhere new and actually exploring, it was great. That is one of the main reasons i love the Orville so much.

@@scandalasdog Another really important thing to remember: TNG took a long time to find its voice. All of season 1 and most of season 2 was awful. If TNG had been serialized like Discovery and Picard, telling only one story a year, it would never have had the time to experiment and get good.

If everyone in the story, treats him as Picard, up to and including the people THAT MADE THE BODY AND BRAIN, say it's Picard, who are you to say it isn't him? They would know better than you, surely? Q, an actual god, says it is him. Even brings up that Dukat is the one that caused him to have a synthetic body in the next mirror-world episode. Surely the people that made the synthetic body and brain, and a literal GOD that can change ENTIRE UNIVERSE with the snap of a finger (and does), would know whether that IS Picard, or a robot pretending. This is actually a pretty darn good scene. I wish it was a little more layered with subtext.. but its good to see

if that “particular ship” that sailed isnt Beverly Crusher, i will be extremely disappointed 😭 i can understand some hesitant on their relationship but give us SOME explanation
@poopsanchez64492 жыл бұрын
It most certainly is.

I think the explanation is very simple. Picard feels guilty for Jack Crusher's death and guilty for being in love with Beverly even before Jack died (thus betraying a close friend, even though he never acted on his feelings). He's never gotten over that guilt, perhaps because deep inside he questions whether his feelings for Beverly affected his decision making on the mission where Jack died.

Interesting choice to play the Insurrection theme at the end of that scene. I imagine because that movie had themes about pining for youth and love

The show is good I'm not gonna say anything else than good. But it's enough. The interaction between these two amazing actors is so fluid that you just enjoy it.

I love the connection to the club and the street cause the club is called 10 and the street called forward avenue if im not correct being “10 forward” that was clever

Glad Whoopi's still doing SOMETHING worthwhile with her time...Guinan was the best part of her.

It’s interesting to watch a show that has absolutely no heart talk about the metaphorical one.

Wtf? The whole first season was about Picard reconnecting with his best friend’s daughter and helping her find her place in the world. How is that not a heartfelt story?

Was this scene before or after the incident with the Borg if it was after I would remind him of what she said when encountering Hugh she said you hesitated and felt sorry for me look what it got you

What's the background song that's playing? I feel like it's derived from something within the franchise that I can't pin my finger on it...
